Lately, my skin has been extra dry due to seasonal change so I was excited to try the new Jergens body balm product that claims to be ‘ultra-healing’ and ‘combats extremely dry skin.’ Upon opening the jar, I noticed a mild scent that wasn’t off-putting but if you are sensitive to fragrance than this is a valid point to consider. The texture resembles more of a lotion than a ‘balm’ and feels refreshingly cool when rubbed into the skin. The formula of the lotion is perfect – not too thick and gluggy that it takes ages to blend into the skin but lightweight enough that it absorbs into the skin fairly fast. The cooling sensation has refrained me from scratching/picking my skin so I’ve definitely noticed my skin looks less irritated and feels more hydrated and supple instead. If you have normal-dry skin than this product is suitable, though I wish the jar was bigger as I can imagine 170g of product won’t last long.

I used to cover my greys with cue shock horror: eyeshadow pigment but now I can easily achieve the same results with an easy to use spray bottle. Packaged in a sleek compact format, the nozzle is very thin to provide the most precise application. The scent reminds me of dry shampoo which isn’t overly fragranced and when you hold the nozzle down, there’s a strong distribution of ‘spray action’ so do not be afraid to get up close and personal to your hairline. My greys are instantly covered with a quick swipe up and down and it looks very natural without the stiff feel to it. I love how quick and convenient it is to use and also the removal process (simple shower) gets the products out easily. The price is super affordable and I’ll be sure to re-purchase once I finish my bottle. Way to go Schwarzkoph for this little gem!

Whenever I think of Nivea products, I associate the brand with heavy rich creams so it was a surprise to see they changed the formula of this day cream. It has a matte salve like feel to it which is very different from their usual creams. I’m definitely pleased they inserted SPF 30+ in the product knowing the Australian sun is never forgivable. Upon application, I noticed while the product blended easily into my skin (no one likes a hard to blend face cream) my skin had a matte feeling to it (attributed to the formula) and as a person who suffers severely from dehydrated skin, unfortunately it was not moisturising enough for me. My fine lines around my forehead looked exacerbated while I was trialling this product and it just didn’t provide that healthy boost to the skin I was looking for. I think the day cream is more suited to those who have oily-normal skin (actually would believe oily skin girls would love this matte-like cream) as opposed to those who have very dry skin.

With Cetaphil’s skincare line being renowned for its simplicity and for being gentle on skin, I had high hopes for their new body wash line and it surely delivered on their reputation. First of all, the packaging itself was in an easily dispensable and easy to grab rounded shape. Only a small amount is needed to work it into a nice lather and the scent of the aloe vera was a pleasant yet unobtrusive smell that I loved but I could see it being a problem for those sensitive to fragrances. The consistency was akin to Cetaphil’s facial cleanser and I found it to be no nonsense effective body wash that did not leave my skin feeling dry or irritated but rather soft and moisturised. However, I found the price to be a bit too steep compared to regular body washes but its effectiveness yet gentleness would make me recommend this product to all skin types.

I have always gravitated towards high-end highlighters because the ones found at the drugstore are chalky, not intense or I end up looking a glittery mess. UNTIL to my surprise, I tried Maybelline’s Master Chrome highlighter and now my perception on drugstore highlighters have changed. Packaged in an easy to use compact, I received the shade ‘Molten Gold’ and it definitely lives up to its name. Molten Gold is a beautiful bronze highlighter that looks amazing on medium to dark skin. There’s flecks of shimmer in the highlighter which doesn’t make me look like I doused myself in glitter but rather it stunningly reflects off my skin in a glowy way. Highlighters tend to leave an obvious “strip” across my cheekbones if not blended well but with this product, it worked with my skin and blended easily with my fan brush. There’s no scent to the product and I love the geometric imprint on it! I honestly feel like I just came back from a sunny tropical region whenever I wear this highlighter and will be using it for the remaining Australian summer.

I was eager to try the Garnier hair care range as I’ve never used any of their shampoo/conditioners before. If you’re a fan of pink packaging the conditioner is dressed from head to toe in pink and it definitely does not get lost in my shower where a sea of other products is placed there. I can sense a fruity aroma from the conditioner which can be explained by the pomegranate extract. It does not leave me feeling nauseous at all but instead invigorated and fresh. I love slathering conditioner all over my ends and this performed wonderfully. It was easy to squeeze out and I didn’t experience any difficulties rinsing the product out. My ends felt so much smoother and I could run my fingers through my hair without it getting caught in knots and tangles. In terms of noticing if my hair became thicker, it was definitely an improvement prior to using the products. Instead of feeling limp and thin, my hair is now more voluminous and bouncy.

It was my first time trying out Garnier hair products so I was excited for this trial. It came at a perfect time as my hair was in a limp lifeless state. The shampoo is packaged in an eye-catching vibrant pink bottle and claims to deliver stronger, thicker and healthier hair. It was easy to work the shampoo into my hair – the consistency wasn’t too thick and even though the bottle is perfumed, the scent wasn’t overpowering. It left my hair with a “fresh out of the shower” scent.
In terms of immediate appearance after using the shampoo, my hair felt more “bouncy” and looked more voluminous. My scalp can be sensitive at times especially during the colder season but I was pleasantly surprised that the it did not cause any irritation such a dryness or itchiness. Over time, I have noticed a significant improvement in terms of thickness regarding my hair. It does not feel as drastically limp as it was before but fuller and with more “oomph”.

Finally a dry shampoo that caters to gals with darker locks! I love this product as the mist sprays evenly on the areas I want covered and does not leave a powdery look but quite seamless instead. Any traces of oiliness is gone within a blink of an eye and my hair doesn't feel crunchy or "hard". This has been such a life saver in extending the wash life of my hair as I try not to wash my hair too often. The size is generous and the price is cheap as chips. A must have for me!

I was so excited to try this new product out from Vagisil as I suffer from vaginal dryness which definitely does make physical intimacy uncomfortable even painful at times. In one box included six applicators which I used once every 3 days according to the instructions. On a note about the instructions, it was very detailed providing in depth information on how to use the applicator and answered any queries people may have. Also, I liked how there was a diagram showing how to insert the applicator as it made the process easier. Packaged in bright aqua blue, the applicator was easy to use and it was nice that the gel wasn’t sticky at all. When I inserted the gel into my vagina, there was an immediate cooling sensation and over the period of testing out this product, I noticed I felt less dry in the area and it really did mimic my own natural moisture when it came to physical intimacy (which is so much better now). I’m also sensitive and most products usually irritate the skin down there, but I noticed no adverse effects. I would really recommend this product to all females who experience vaginal dryness and want it to be gone!

I’ve really been happy with the results since using the Head & Shoulders Thick & Strong shampoo and conditioner. Right from the start, I could tell Head & Shoulders changed their formula. The shampoo had a slight yellow tinge while the conditioner remained white. Paired together, my hair transformed from flat and lifeless to voluminous and bouncy. In the past, I’ve tried volumising shampoos and conditioners only to be left disappointed that the effects were short lived but with these products from Heads & Shoulders, I noticed the “bounciness” effect was still on display the following day. My scalp is also easily irritated and using Heads & Shoulders did not aggravate it a single bit which I’m so pleased as scratching your scalp in public isn’t a pretty sight. It also kept dandruff at bay and made my hair feel less oily (extending the number of days I could go without washing my hair). There was no offensive smell to the products so those sensitive to scents can be put at ease. It only lost one star due to my hair becoming less oily – it verged onto really matte hair that I lost the shiny aspect and my hair is still shedding even with the aid of Head & Shoulders. Overall, I’ve really enjoyed using the Head & Shoulders Thick & Strong shampoo and conditioner and even though it wasn’t 100% perfect, I still appreciate how volumised my hair is now compared to before using the products and would recommend to those who are struggling to find shampoos/conditioners that will help change their hair from limp to bouncy!
