What a great little curling iron! it's pretty hard to re-invent the wheel, so this curling iron is pretty similar to most others on the market. Barrel that heats up, little clippy thing to grab your hair, comfy heatproof handle etc. Pretty simple and there are only so many things you can do differently. But I liked it! Heated up quickly, temp was adjustable and the shape of the handle meant that the little "kickstand" allowed you to put it on the bench without the heat of the tong touching anything. simple, well designed and good for people (like me!) who are a bit new to the world of hair tools. I liked the little heatproof bag too! Not sure I really noticed a difference between this and other curling tongs I have though. The diameter of the barrel is a nice size for bouncy curls and waves, and is good for creating volume at the root. But I'm not sure the coconut did anything special and I didn't noticed any difference in the texture of my curls using this compared to other curlers. If you dont already own a curling iron: this one is great. Great value (RPP $79.99), easy to use etc. Definitely recommend getting it. However, if you already own one, this is probably very similar and it's probably not worth replacing the one you already have.

I found it. Perfect, lustrous, pigmented, easy wearing, Barbie pink. I actually bought this lipstick in the shade "Pretty Vain", which is a bright shocking Schiaparelli pink to wear on my wedding day and was not disappointed! I needed something that would give me that bright vintage pop of colour, but that would also wear well and survive eating and drinking all night. To be clear, this is not a colour stay lipstick. You will not get colour that doesn't budge for 10 hours. But what you will get is a silky, pigmented old-school glam lippie that doesn't bleed, has fantastic long-lasting colours to choose from and that wears gently and gradually. I'd say that the finish is "satin". Not matte, but not shiny. Perfectly in between, and available in colours that are super classic, but also very modern ones. It lasts a long time, but isn't drying like some of the "colour stay" or matte formulas can be. It's also incredibly comfortable and moisturizing. Now that the wedding chaos is over, I still find myself reaching for this lipstick in this colour as my first choice. I wear it to work, I wear it out. I use it on my cheeks as a blush/cheek stain too. Just so nice to wear. If you like "classic" style lipstick (rather than lip ink, gloss, super mattes, those drying liquid lipsticks etc) and you dont mind reapplying after dinner in a posh little compact mirror, you will love this.

Don't you hate it when you finally find a mascara you like and they bloody discontinue it? I used to use Loreal's miss baby roll for years, and then my local regional priceline stopped stocking it. So I have been searching for something to replace it and after many duds, I landed on this gem! I love the flexible silicone brush. No yucky clumps and it's easy to get the product in the right places. Formula is nice and pigmented, doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes and skin and doesn't smudge throughout the day. Doesn't feel heavy either. Not super waterproof, so you will look like Alice Cooper if you cry, but worth it and very easy to wash off. Formula is nice and buildable, gives my short straight lashes really good length and volume. But the hero is the brush. It's fantastic.

I've been a long time la Roche posay user. Their products are incredible and great for my very sensitive, allergic skin. This is no different. Though I was delighted to be part of this trial team, it turns out I have actually used this product before! It's not my fave LRP product, but it's still very good! It's fragrance free, nice and creamy and great on lips, face, hands and any other sore, dry spots. I probably wouldn't use it every day because it's quite heavy (use the La Roche Posay toleraine riche moisturiser instead), but it gives reactive and sensitive skin much needed relief. Very very good if your skin is unhappy, but a bit useless if it's not. (Also no good on peri oral dermatitis, which is what i originally bought it for last year. But excellent on garden variety eczema!)

Gosh what a lovely product! Each individual (biodegradable! Well done EA!) capsule contains a perfect amount of beautifully hydrating serum. I have super sensitive, allergic-to-lots-of-stuff skin, so was delighted to discover that my dry skin lapped this stuff up without a single complaint. The texture of the serum was like a super light oil, which soaked right in and gave me a lovely glow. Tinted moisturiser, bb cream etc went over the top really nicely, it smelled pleasant, and the serum was light enough for day time as well as before bed. I keep my skincare routine suuuuper simple and this fitted in really nicely. I'm always a bit skeptical of reviews that say "Oh it made me xyz", but this actually did make my skin lovely and plump and glowy. I got married towards the end of this trial too, so trying new products so close to the big day was a risk. But when I saw "Elizabeth Arden" and "Ceramide", I knew it would be a high quality, gentle and effective combination and would be worth the risk. Delighted to say it paid off and I really think the lovely skin I had for the big day can definitely be attributed to this product. So I would absolutely recommend this product to any brides to be to add to their skincare for the big day. (My husband admitted to nicking a few of the capsules and trying them too. That he kept going back for more was pretty telling!) Fantastic product. My eyes watered a little when I initially saw the price at Myer, but having now tried it, I think I'll be adding this one to my skincare permanently.

I have short, straight lashes and will be the first to admit that there are very few mascaras out there that come anywhere near making my lashes look long and lush without clumping. So when I was offered the chance to try L'Oreal's Mega Volume Miss Baby Roll mascara, I didnt have massively high expectations. I was just expecting something solid and hopefully clump-free. But this little gem blew my expectations out of the water. IT IS AMAZING. Honestly, I was in love before I'd even opened the tube. The rockabilly 50's nerd in me wants to give the graphic designer responsible for that gorgeous pink and mint green branding a big kiss! Honestly, I would probably buy this just based on looks. The first thing I noticed when I opened the tube was the wacky shape of the brush! The bristles are arranged in a spiral pattern, to help curl and lift your lashes I suppose. I'm not a fan of super bristly mascara wands/brushes, so I was happy to see that this one was silicony rather than bristles, which often get so clogged up with product that they clump like crazy. The colour was a nice dark black and I was really impressed with how much length and curl and volume I got right away. No, my eyelashes couldn't be passed off as falsies, but this short-eyelashed lady was impressed! Even better results using an eyelash curler, but this is one of the first mascaras I've tried in a long long time where the eyelash curler is optional for me. The shape of the brush made it easy to coat all of my lashes evenly and NO CLUMPS. Love it! Thanks so much L'Oreal for making such a fabulous mascara! I'll be buying this one again!

I used this solid little conditioner in combination with the shampoo from the same range on my unruly, frankly pretty filthy (ie oily and sweaty) hair. I loved the shampoo and thought the conditioner worked really well with it. My hair did feel light and balanced and I was grateful that my hair wasn't weighed down by a silicone residue like it often is with other conditioners. The scent was pleasant, the consistency was about what I expected from a Loreal conditioner and it was lovely and creamy to apply. I often judge a conditioner by how easily it helps me untangle my messy mane. This wasn't top of the pile, but it was solid and made de-tangling a breeze and left my hair more hydrated than I expected from something that was designed to soak up oil. I did find that my hair had more volume and that my roots were definitely dryer and I got a good extra day or so between washes than I normally would. But the ends of my hair were still a little dry. Bot badly though. Honestly, I think that's probably more a comment on the lack of love my hair gets from me, than this conditioner, but I do prefer a richer, more hydrating conditioner. But this was solid! Try it! You'll like it!

As a no-fuss kinda lady who hits the gym and plays a lot of sweaty sport that requires wearing a helmet, dry shampoo has become a lifesaver to me. I love love love dry shampoo, so was super excited to try this one. I really liked the shampoo and conditioner that came in this range, but sadly the dry shampoo is better suited to life as a bathroom ornament rather than a hair care product. It worked better holding some hair ties than it did as dry shampoo. Sorry Loreal, but it was pretty dreadful. The scent was nice and I did like the size of the bottle (so nice and easy to fit in a gym bag!), but the product's performance was a complete let down. It didn't do anything at all. It didn't lift roots, it didn't absorb oil, it didn't make my hair look, feel or smell fresh. and then to add insult to injury, the nozzle broke and I am left with half a can that I can't spray. Not that it would have done anything anyway.

As a gal with thick, wavy, unruly hair that is very prone to frizz, I can't survive without a decent conditioner, so it was a real treat to be invited to trial Pantene's 3 Minute Miracle Smooth & Sleek conditioner. Straight from the tube, the scent was pleasant and the consistency of the product was what I've come to expect from a well-loved brand like Pantene. After shampooing, I applied the conditioner to the tips and lengths of my hair, avoiding my scalp. I danced around the shower for the duration of Van Halen's Panama (3 mins 31 seconds) while I let the conditioner do its magic. It rinsed out easily and made my usual post-conditioner de-tangle blissfully easy. Honestly, that is how I judge a conditioner: can I use it to de-tangle my very long, very knot-prone hair. And this got the thumbs up from me. I usually wash my hair twice a week, and after the first wash I absolutely noticed a visible difference to the condition of my hair. It was definitely smoother and sleeker. After using the product a few more times however, I did notice that my hair wasn't as bouncy post-wash as it usually us. I then noticed that this conditioner is very heavy on the silicone based chemicals. Perhaps my hairdresser is just lying to me to try and get me to buy her expensive salon shampoo, but I was always under the impression that a high silicone content in hair products adds residue to your hair and weighs it down. I've never really thought that much about it, but I did actually notice it happening here. Perhaps I need to use a clarifying shampoo in combination with this conditioner to strip out the silicone-y residue from the last wash, but I wasn't thrilled with how weighed down my hair was. :( Which is a real shame because I did love how manageable it made my crazy hair. Will I use the rest of the tube? Yes, probably. But probably not every wash.
Will I buy it next time I need conditioner: probably not. It's a great conditioner for the price, but I don't think I'm converted. Oh, and can the tube be recycled? If not, then it's definitely off my to-buy list.

I am the first to admit that I am a no fuss kinda gal when it comes to my hair, so adding extra steps to my hair care routine comes with the expectation that those extra fiddly steps will be absolutely worth it Unfortunately this pre shampoo clay mask product didn't impress. My hair is thick and unruly, prone to dry ends but quite oily at the roots. Not so oily that you could fry chips in it, but getting there. Sadly I'm not entirely sure what the point of putting a clay mask on my scalp is when I have to wash it out with a shampoo that is supposed to deal with the oil anyway. The mask was easy to apply and washed out quicker than I expected it would, but I didn't really notice a difference to how long I could go between shampoos and the roots of my hair weren't dramatically lifted. The scent was fresh and the texture was nice, I'm just not sure this is a product that even needs to exist. If the shampoo and conditioner in this line are as good as they claim to be (and are! They were good!) surely this clay mask isn't needed? I do hope that some of the other beauties who trialled this liked it more than I did, but honestly, this just seems like it is designed purely to separate people from more of their money in the hair care aisle at the supermarket. Sorry Loreal.
