I trialed this product for 2 weeks. I ceased my prescription Tretinoin during this time and used at night only on freshly cleansed skin. I really enjoyed the serum's lightweight formula and lovely light scent. It absorbed quickly without leaving a greasy residue, and I could apply a heavier moisturiser over the top to slug. I only needed a small amount – a couple of drops covered my face, neck and decolletage. I did not notice a significant difference in the 2 weeks, however, I have been using prescription tretinoin for over 10 years so I didn’t expect a miracle. I am keen to continue using this lovely product as it is hydrating and more gentle on my skin than my prescription Tretinoin. I will probably alternate between the two nightly. I recommend it for someone who is new to retinols – it would be perfect for beginners and it is certainly effective and affordable.

I work hard at reducing my hyperpigmentation due to sun exposure and aging, so I was excited to try the Mela B3 Serum over a 12-week. Here’s a detailed review based on my experience. Packaging and Presentation: The Mela B3 Serum comes in a sleek, glass dropper bottle that feels both luxurious and practical. The dropper dispenses the product easily, allowing for precise application. The design is simple yet elegant, which I appreciate. Application and Usage: I used twice daily—morning and night. 2-3 drops to the face and neck after cleansing, followed by a moisturizer and SPF 50+ sunscreen in the morning. I stopped using my Vitamin C serum for the trial in the am and I continued to use my Tretinoin in the PM after the Mela B3 Serum Texture and Absorption: The serum has a lightweight, slightly gel-like consistency that absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy residue. It’s perfect for layering under moisturizer and sunscreen in the morning. I didn’t experience any irritation, even when applying it twice daily. Results: After completing the 12-week trial, I was very pleased to see that I had a noticeable improvement in the appearance of my hyperpigmentation. My main dark spots have visibly lightened, and my overall skin tone looks more even. The serum has also helped to smooth out the texture of my skin, giving it a brighter, more radiant appearance. Pros: • Effective in reducing hyperpigmentation. • Lightweight and easily absorbed. • Can be used in conjunction with other skincare products without irritation. • Elegant packaging and easy-to-use dropper. Overall: I will definitely continue using Mela B3 Serum and alternate it every 3 months with my prescription Hydroquinone at night. I felt it was just as effective as my prescription Hydroquinone so may end up replacing it with Mela B3 all together.

I have been using this thick and occlusive cream for years to avoid dry / flaky skin in winter on my face and body. I apply it after showering to retain moisture. However, I have recently starting using it as my 'slugging' cream at night on face, eyes and neck after my nighttime skin care routine (including tretinoin). I do tissue off any excess before putting my head on the pillow. I have also been using it on my face if I have a reaction to too many active ingredients to calm any redness or rashes. It is excellent for these uses.

I tested La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 Serum with 10% Vitamin B5 for two weeks as part of a trial group instead of my regular hydrating serum. I used it in am after my aha toner and before vitamin c paste, eye cream and suncream. I used it in pm before tretinoin. It is a lovely hydrating serum that worked beautifully on my 51 yo fair skin. However, where it became a standout product is healing my skin within 24 hours when I was accidentally ‘too generous’ with an at home peel and caused a burn on my face. The burn was soothed and healed much faster than previous healing needed after professional laser treatments etc. I believe it is the high strength B5 (panthenol) that makes this a standout repair product. I will always have this product on hand from now on. Also it was an excellent base as part of my am routine for a full face of makeup. NB. You need to take care with the dropper as the product can spill down the outside of bottle. I love that it does not have a strong smell and feels so light on the skin.

I have been using this product for many years. I keep trying multiple high end and drug store foundations (liquid and serum) but always come back to this. I am 51 with fair and dry skin. I find this product when buffed in properly and set with the same brand veil, leaves the most beautiful finish and never cakes or clumps in my wrinkles. I can use lightly or build up to medium coverage. I do enjoy using a hydrating spray after application and respritz throughout the day. I love that I can put this foundation on in am and then just reapply in evening if I am going out after work. It works brilliantly! I do mix the light and medium shades together in a travel container to get my perfect shade. And I prefer the loose powder version to the presses version. Also I purchase half price usually and it lasts forever. What a brilliant product.

I am 51 with fair, dry skin and live in Australia. I have purchased many High end and drug store vitamin c serums, creams, toners, masks and pastes over the years. I typically prefer a serum (for ease). however I am mindful of how quickly a higher percentage vit c product can oxidise. The alpha h paste has a good percent (10%) of Vit c and delivers it in a lovely thicker cream paste that smooths easily on face, neck and décolleté. It has a silky, non greasy finish with a slight, non perfume smell. There is no gritty feel like other pastes I have tried and my moisturiser, suncream and makeup go on beautifully after. I apply in the am after my serum/s.

I enjoy this product and have repurchased a couple of times when half price at chemist warehouse. I have used many vitamin c serums over the years both high end and budget. This one works well on my skin. It is a light formula and sits well under my moisturiser, suncream and foundation. I like the added niacinamide. This product is scented and I would prefer unscented. I would also like to know the percentage of vitamin c concentration on the label. Given it is not mentioned, I assume it is less than 10%. Hence the four star rating and not a five.
