I was really happy to be picked for this trial because I’d been looking for a decent shampoo and conditioner for a while. For context, I’m in my early 40s. Shampoos and conditioners targeted for dry hair made my scalp itchy and oily. This conditioner is just beautiful. It's not too thick and not too rich. It doesn't leave build up in my hair and my hair doesn't feel heavy or weighed down. My hair is just left feeling soft and silky. I’d heard of Bed Head in my early 20s. I used their texturising hair spray so I was a little skeptical that this shampoo and conditioner would make much difference. The scent is fruity, very typical of Bed Head products. The first time I used the shampoo and conditioner, I noticed how much easier it was for me to brush my hair. I had a lot less tangles and as a result, less hair fallout. I’ve been consistently using this set since receiving it and my hair loves it. I’ve stopped using hair oils because I wanted to see if the Bed Head products worked and I’m happy to report that it does! The shampoo lathers really well and the conditioner makes my hair feel so silky. I think I might have found my holy grail!

I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to review this product. I have been blessed with reasonably wrinkle-free skin however I noticed over the last few months that I've started developing fine horizontal lines on my forehead. The Genefique Youth Activating Concentrate promises to "repair and activate ten signs of youth" namely restoring firmness, the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, promoting radiance, improving texture and evening skintone. I have been religiously using this product day and night over the last few weeks and I definitely notice a difference. Having had my son over four months ago, I had noticed that my skin had lost its radiance however this seems to have been restored after using the serum. It is housed in an absolutely luxurious glass bottle with a pump dropper. One pump is more than sufficient for my entire face and neck. The texture is smooth and it feels very moisturising. I am unable to detect a scent as such but I adore how easily it sinks into my skin. I have noticed also that the fine lines on my forehead are less defined. I have also noticed that my pores are less prominent and overall, my complexion looks more even and radiant I truly adore this serum and I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

I was offered the opportunity to test drive this new lipstick from Revlon and naturally, I jumped at the chance. I'm a lipstick fiend and own more lipsticks than anyone else I know! The colour I received is Cruise Collection 075, a pinky-orange shade. I was initially a little taken aback by the almost tangerine colour as it is not one I would normally pick. For one, I was afraid my teeth would come across too yellow because of the warmth of the colour. To my delight, it applied coral on my pigmented lips and is a very wearable shade The lipstick comes in a clear plastic tube, quite cheap looking, if I might add. The bottom half of the tube is coloured which exactly matches the colour of the lipstick which makes it super handy if you have a box full of lipsticks and you need to pull the exact one out in a hurry. The lid snaps shut quite securely and what I found to be quite interesting is the clicking sound it produces when you twist the lipstick up. It makes 3 initial clicks as you twist the lipstick out of the tube I found the lipstick to apply fairly evenly on bare lips however if I have balm on, it doesn't apply as smoothly and I find myself evening out the colour with my finger. Staying power wise, I can get around 4 hours of wear without eating or drinking. Unfortunately this lipstick does budge and as mother to a very squirmy 6 week old, my little son has often come away with some of the lipstick on his mittens Texture ans scent wise, the lipstick does feel quite tacky when applied. Having said that, all my long-lasting lipsticks do that too. There is a very slight vanilla-ish scent but it is barely noticeable and it doesn't have a taste either. Personally, I think that it is quite expensive for a "drug-store" lipstick at nearly $26 especially since the lipstick comes housed in a clear plastic tube. Having said that, I do really like the colour and I'm grateful for this opportunity to experiment with a colour I wouldn't typically go for. Thanks BH!

I received two tubes from BeautyHeaven to review - one in Light and the other in Medium. Having tried various BB creams in the past - Garnier, Skin Food, Missha, I have to say that out of all, L'oreal is the one I like the best. The foundation dispenses out of a neat tube and I didn't find the consistency too runny at all. The foundation comes out white with tiny blue specks and initially I hoped that it wouldn't be as awful as Almay's colour match foundation which had no coverage. To my surprise, I got decent coverage over my blotchy cheeks and far from perfect complexion and the colour stayed put all day. I applied some on at 6.30am this morning, it's now just gone 10pm at night and my skin still looks as good as it did this morning My skin is combination/oily and I found that it worked beautifully when applied on clean skin with just a sheer layer of serum (I'm using Vichy's Aqualia Thermale Serum). For colour reference, I'm a MAC NC30 and I mis both the light and medium shades. The medium shade would be perfect for the summer when I get a tan. There is some graininess but it breaks down really easily and quickly and even though my skin is sensitive, it is not irritated by the grains and it almost feels nice, like using a gentle scrub. The tiny grains are supposed to "burst" which provides the colour in the foundation Overall, I really like this and I will repurchase when this runs out. It's perfect for the weekend when you don't want a full coverage.

I was part of the trial team to review Lancome's new lipstick – Rouge in Love. Thanks BH! The colour I received was 322M (Corail in Love). When I received the lipstick, I was surprised by how small the casing was compared to a standard tube. However on closer inspection, the lipstick bullet seemed to be comparable to other lipsticks. The casing is beautiful – matte silver finish with a ribbon pattern down one side of the tube and “Rouge In Love” embossed on the other side. It seems quite hardy (I accidentally dropped it on the floor once and it did not dent the mental casing at all) and there is a nice weighty feel to it which screams luxury. It's a lipstick you want to pull out of your handbag at the dinner table. The colour of the lipstick I received is a wearable, yellow-based, pinky, coral shade. Initially when I swiped this colour on, it didn't look right on me. I have red undertones in my skin and so this didn't look good. However after experimenting around with different coloured eye-shadows, I have found that this lipstick looks good when paired with green or purple eyeshadow. I really like the texture of this lipstick, it is smooth and creamy however, flaky lips beware! I have not tried other colours in this range but the 322M picks up flakiness. It is lightly scented but it does not bother me too much. As for staying-power, this beauty does stay put but without the dryness ones gets from long-lasting lipsticks Overall, I like this lipstick. This particular shade might not be my first choice which by the way would look amazing on fair-skinned girls, but I am looking forward to checking out the other colours in the range.

I have this cream in Light and Medium. For reference, my skin shade is NC30. Coles are currently offering a special on some Garnier products and I snatched both shades up at 50% off. I was initially a little hesitant because my skin IS blemished and usually I rely on concealer on top of my foundation to hide the redness on my cheeks, small acne scars on my chin and dark undereye circles. I was concerned after reading some reviews that the coverage wouldn't cut it for me. My skin is problematic and I've been in search for my HG tinted moisturiser which provides decent coverage but enough to let my skin breathe through. I've tried MAC, Clinique, Laura Mercier and this wonder-in-a-tube is by far the best. Has anyone ever had moments where you've put on your tinted moisturiser/ foundation and it looks good indoors but the minute you step out into the sunshine you can see broken capillaries or blemish marks through your tinted moisturiser/foundation? Since using the Garner BB, I've not had that! In addition, I've noticed that my skin tone is more even i.e. less red. I'm very impressed! Colour wise, I still have some tan from summer so realistically; I'm probably a NC35 right now. The Medium is good when I've got a proper tan in the height of summer but at the moment, I'm mixing the Medium and Light to get my perfect shade. Yes, it does sit more on the pink scale than yellow and yes, it is scented, but the scent is not overpowering and I'm happy to adjust the tone with loose powder. My skin does tend to get greasy on my cheeks but so far since I started using this product four days ago (I'm on day five now), I have had no problems with the makeup slipping off. I have recently discovered Johnson & Johnsons Clean & Clear Oil-Free Moisturiser which I use under the Garner BB cream and then a pat of loose powder to set everything. In short, I'm thrilled with the Garnier BB cream and with the results I've seen!

I was offered the opportunity to trial this foundation and having been a fan of Lancome's mascaras, I was quick to put my hand up for this. I was sent a colour chart to identify my best suited shade and I was really impressed by the range of colours and managed to find two which could work for me but chose the slightly darker option The foundation arrived with a Lancome foundation brush with instructions to apply it with the supplied brush, blending outwards. The application seemed simple enough. The foundation comes with a pump which dispenses the perfect amount (for me anyway!). The foundation brush was brilliant to use and there were no obvious brush stroke marks when using it The first thing I noticed was the scent. It is very strong. And it does not go away. I have been using this for about a week now and the first few times it was terrible on my nose, but now I'm getting used to it. I might add at this point that although I'm not adverse to scented products, this is particularly overpowering. Coverage is medium. I typically apply concealer to cover a few red areas before using foundation and the usual foundation I use masks my imperfections but for this one, a few spots still showed through. I was also not impressed with the oil-control. This product is supposed to be oil-free and shine-free and admittedly, my skin is combination but for a long-lasting foundation, I was surprised that it didn't keep my skin matte compared to others which I have tried in the past. I should point out that if one is a fan of the dewy look, then this would be good to achieve that effect. The foundation also claims to not require any touch ups. After slapping on my make up at about quarter past 6 in the morning, I usually find that by 12.30pm I need to fish out the blotting sheets and compact and by 7pm, I feel the urge to wipe off my makeup because it starts looking like it's been on since 6am. I initially tried it using a primer on underneath but the foundation didn't seem to bond too well with it. Perhaps I wasn't using the right primer. In any case, I find that the foundation is best applied on a lightly moisturised face, leaving a few minutes in between moisturising and putting the makeup on. Even then it's still a bit tacky until the foundation is set with some powder For $68 a bottle, I think I'd pass on this and go for the Lancome Teint Miracle foundation instead. This is an average product for a high-end brand.
