I’ve used this serum both day and night and it seems like I see better results when I use it in the morning. My skin looks less dull and more “awake”. I like that it absorbs very well and doesn’t leave my skin sticky. It works quite well on my dry skin and it leaves my skin matte, so it’s a great base for my makeup. It has a herbal scent, but it’s not too strong and slightly sweet-smelling. I don’t have much fine lines so I didn’t see an improvement after using this but it definitely does make my skin feel slightly firmer. I would love to keep using this serum as part of my regular skincare routine!

I think I’ve found my favorite product to use before applying nail polish. I love how this is multi-use and that I don’t need separate bottles of ridge filler and base coat to get the pre-nail polish job done. It also saves heaps of time since that means I don’t need to wait in between coats. It has a milky clear color to it so it can be used under light shades of nail polish as well. It didn’t leave streaks, and I found it very smooth to apply my nail polish over it. I wouldn’t use it as a top coat though; its end result is a bit matte and not shiny gloss which is what I prefer. I don’t really have brittle nails so I can’t really comment on it’s strengthening properties but it’s definitely something I want to use whenever I do my nails as a base coat and ridge filler with the added benefit of its other properties. I’m also loving the fact that it’s affordable (considering it’s a top coat, base coat, ridge filler, and nail strengthener all in one bottle) and easily available at pharmacies.

I’ve tried body oils for my knees that tend to be very dry, but I’ve never tried facial oils before. I’m an advocate for clean, fresh skin so if I feel any oiliness or stickiness by midday, I want to wash my face with facial cleanser. That being said, I was skeptical using oil on my face. It’s excellent for people with dry skin and it does give off a subtle glow, but I must say it isn’t for me as I immediately felt the urge to wash it off. It’s quite light and very moisturizing but I still didn’t like how it felt after applying. I wasn’t a fan of the scent either. It had a cinnamon-like smell to it which was the most off-putting factor. My cheeks get very dry during the winter to the point that it starts flaking; I would use this product at night before going to bed in the affected area, but not in the mornings. Because you only need a few drops this product would last very long.

I think it was a pretty clever idea, whoever came up with this product. The bottle has a sponge inside which is saturated in nail polish remover. You’re supposed to dip a finger in and twist until the nail polish is removed. I was quite skeptical to do that because that would require you to expose unnecessary skin besides your nails (your fingertips) to nail polish remover, regardless of the product claiming to have moisturizing properties. I’ve got quite dry skin and eczema. When I dipped my finger in, I didn’t know the nail polish remover was filled to the brim so it overflowed and made such a mess. You’d have to pour some out before initial usage. The sponge itself could be more dense; I found it too soft to effectively remove nail polish in just a few twists (2 coats plus top coat and base coat). Overall, I didn’t find this more effective than the usual cotton pad and nail polish remover method. Also, I’m not a big fan of using the same sponge to remove nail polish over and over again.

I love the packaging this product comes in. It looks very clean and aesthetic, and the syringe-like dispenser adds a unique touch (it even has a lock mechanism). It is a thicker consistency than what I usually prefer in eye creams, so there’s a little bit of tugging-on-the-skin involved. I like eye creams that have thinner consistency and easy to pat on. I don’t particularly have noticeable wrinkles or dark eye circles yet, so I can’t really say if this product has made a difference or not. However, I think it does work short term on fine wrinkles due to the silicone content (not sure about long term). Keep in mind it is quite pricey though, and for that price tag there are more affordable and effective eye creams on the market.

You can always count on Clinique for someone who has lots of up-and-down skin days like me. It has a light weight gel-like consistency that leaves your skin non-greasy. This was actually the very first product I used when I started buying skincare products when I was younger. It’s suitable for anyone and any skin type. However, I would recommend it for younger people as nowadays I find it better to use something a little heavier with anti-aging properties. It doesn’t disappoint though; I still use it in the morning before I apply makeup and it’s enough to keep my skin moisturized and smooth without getting greasy. It’s very easy to spread and you only need a small amount to cover your whole face.

If you like peppermint, this is for you. There aren’t many lip balms on the market that contain peppermint (oil), so it was quite a nice surprise when I tried this. It’s tingly once you apply it on your lips and I absolutely love the refreshing peppermint smell. It glides on very smoothly and leaves my lips looking soft. There’s a wide range of shades available and I trialled the peony shade. I haven’t tried the other shades but I can already tell this is my favorite shade; one that I would’ve chosen myself. The color is so versatile and in a not too pink/nude tone. It has a slight shimmer to it. The tube is thinner/skinnier than your standard lip balm. I find it easier to grip but the cap, being smaller, is a bit fiddly and easy to lose.

I had high hopes for this sunscreen but sadly it didn’t make it. I’m always on the hunt for sunscreen (especially facial sunscreen) that is smooth to apply and leaves the skin matte. In my opinion this sunscreen was very thick in consistency and I had trouble spreading it on my face even with a small amount - not very spreadable. On top of that, after applying the sunscreen my skin was left shiny and looked quite oily. I felt like I had a layer of product on my face which was unpleasant and felt heavy and clogged up. And this is before makeup! It has a high SPF and a thick consistency so for me it feels more like a heavy duty sunscreen; something you’d use on a day out at the beach, etc.

I don’t normally use any form of serum/lotion on my face in the morning before applying makeup, as they make my skin quite oily by lunchtime. This product has changed my routine. I was very skeptical at first due to its thick consistency but as I massaged 3 generous drops onto my face it felt like it sort of dissolved very quickly and left my skin silky and matte. It didn’t feel as though you’ve got a layer of product on your face and it didn’t leave any sticky residue as you would normally feel when you apply a lotion or moisturizer, which was quite pleasing. I’m still not sure about the exfoliating properties, since it’s a serum and not a wash off scrub. But it does the job of leaving my skin smooth and I’m quite confident to use this as a base before applying sunscreen (it spreads on smoother than without using the serum). It’s also surprisingly light enough that even with combination skin like me, oily skin is at bay for a few hours longer. If you like herbal smells (ie Jurlique), this product is what it smells like, but within a reasonable price range.

If there’s one thing Palmer’s is good at, it’s moisturizers. So naturally this was my first ever Palmer’s product I tried that didn’t fall into that category. I’m so skeptical about this product. It’s gentle and doesn’t sting my eyes, but no matter how much I scrub, my eye liner doesn’t wash off (and I don’t even use waterproof makeup). I’ve watched videos to see how other people use it, and they scrub A LOT. I just think it’s extremely time consuming, not to mention damaging the delicate skin around your eyes! My makeup is very basic and minimal, a bit of eyeshadow and pencil eye liner. If this product can’t even remove those two makeup products, I don’t know what it can remove. I’ll just stick to my oil-based makeup remover, thanks.
