I really liked the Schwarzkopf Hair Mascara. It was easy to use, and is a great tool to use when you’re at that “in-between” stage of hair colouration. It quickly helped cover up my grey hair, and washed out just as easily. The instructions were easy to understand. The only issue I had, was that I thought the dark blonde was a little too dark for my hair. Luckily I only needed to use a small amount on my greys, so it wasn’t obvious. Other than that - a great product at a great price!

This brow pencil was my favourite product from the Maybelline Total Temptation products that we received to trial. I chose the medium brown colour in the Total Temptation Brow Definer, as my hair colour is a medium to dark brown. The Brow Definer comes in a neat little package, with the pencil at one end, and a brush at the other. The pencil has a unique tear-drop shape to it – the tip is to define the brows, and the larger base is used to fill in the brows. The pencil was very soft – but not too soft, and the colour applied evenly. Once I was finished with the pencil, I then used the “spoolie” brush end to blend. I really like this product. It’s very easy to use, and gives a great end result. There was no smudging whilst wearing it during the day, and there was no need to re-apply if you were heading out again at night.

Upon opening the Total Temptation eyeshadow & highlighter palette, I was surprised to see application instructions on the back. I don’t think I’ve ever used an eyeshadow that has had instructions before! The palette contained two colour sets – one with pink shades, and one with brown/apricot shades. Also included in each set was a highlighter. The pink appealed to me straight away, and off I went. I applied the eyeshadows and highlighter as per the directions on the back, but was disappointed at how little pigment was actually in the colours. I was hoping for a striking look, but I ended up with subtle. It would be a good look for work, but not really what you’d want for a night out. Next, my daughter and I tried the autumn shades. This time my daughter applied the colours in a different order, to what the directions state (this is noted in our “Tips” section). She achieved a much more striking result. We then tried the pink shades using this same technique, and were happier with the end results.

Unfortunately this is not a particularly positive review. Whilst I was looking forward to trialing all of the Maybelline Total Temptation products, I was really looking forward to finding a new everyday mascara. I did not find it in the Total Temptation mascara. The product is in a nicely shaped tube, which made it very easy to hold. The brush is a decent size and a great shape, which made applying the product to inner lashes a breeze. What I didn’t like was the clumpiness. Oh my goodness, the clumpiness. This mascara is so thick that trying to keep my lashes separated was almost impossible. Now I’m pretty good at applying mascara normally, but this product made me feel like I was a beginner. The moment I blinked, I had mascara on my eyelids and cheeks – and my top and bottom lashes felt like they were stuck together. I ended up having to use a cotton tip to remove the excess product from my lashes. And even then the mascara took what felt like forever to set. My lashes did feel relatively soft whilst using this product, and it washed off fairly easily. I gave it a few goes, but I ended up not using this mascara again. Firstly, I love the smell of this Kiwi Sugar Scrub. It actually smells like kiwi fruit! It has a smooth consistency and is easily applied to clean, dry skin. I found that I needed to use quite a bit of product, to cover my entire face and lips effectively. Once I added warm water and massaged the scrub over my face, the warmth from the scrub was almost immediate (and kind of unexpected) – even though the application tips stated it would feel warm. I thought the scrub was a little messy to remove though. I prefer to use a facial scrub in the shower, as it is a lot easier to wash off under running water. The Purifying Sugar Scrub left my facing feeling very soft and clean, with no redness or reaction to the product. With a longer timeframe in which to try the scrub, I could have given a better review of the effects (or the reduction in skin impurities), but we were only given 4 days in which to try it. I thought that the scrub would be best packaged in a tube, so make application easier and more hygienic. I’m not a fan of dipping my fingers in tubs!

When I first opened my Trilogy Trial Team package, I was surprised by the colour on the boxes. A very familiar apricot colour, which reminded me of Nutrimetics products of the past! The apricot theme continues through to the products themselves, with apricot labels on a beautiful brown matt glass jar. Included in the box was a small black spatula. This makes application a breeze and it’s a great idea, as it’s so unhygienic to be dipping your fingers in the jar every day.
The Mask has a slight scent, and a thinner consistency than most other cream masks that I’ve used. It left my skin feeling lovely and moisturised, and I had no reaction to it at all.
I would say that my skin feels softer than what it does normally, when compared to how it feels with my usual moisturiser. I didn’t notice any reduction in lines or wrinkles, but perhaps that will come with further usage. I will continue to use the Trilogy Very Gentle Hydra-Mask, as I think for the small amount you require it would end up being value for money.

The Restoring Oil itself has no perfumed scent, making it ideal for those with sensitive skin.
The oil soaks quite quickly into your skin, without leaving a film of oil on your face, or your fingers. Any residual oil on my fingers was very quickly absorbed. (I actually found it quite good for the eczema on my fingers – cleared it right up! That was until the next time I washed the dishes…)
I was impressed by the fact that my face did not feel oily after application, however I still felt that I required a moisturising cream afterwards. The oil was not quite enough for me, on its own.
It’s hard to say if this product would help protect sensitive skin, as I used it in conjunction with the Trilogy Very Gentle Hydra-Mask; but it’s certainly a product I would look at purchasing in future.

I received the auburn coloured brow pencil to trial. Initially, I thought it would have been a good match to my dark eyebrows, but it was probably a little light for my liking.
The pencil itself is very soft, and easy to use. The product lasts all day, and does not tend to rub off onto the back of your hands on hot days. I found the brush to be very handy. I've not used a brow pencil or brush previously, but the brush was great! I'd definitely use it again. It was great to use, to keep the strays brow hairs in line.

I was very skeptical to try this liquid eyeliner, as I've struggled in the past to use such items. But struggle no more! This new Maybelline eyeliner is so easy to use. You can control exactly how much product you use, by simply applying more or less pressure. The brush is so fine, that the finest lines can be achieved with ease. I have fairly sensitive eyes/skin, and I had no issues using this eyeliner.

I was looking forward to trying the Full Fan Effect mascara, as the reviews looked very promising.
First of all, I loved the matt finish on the tube/bottle. So smooth! The mascara also smells nice. A very subtle scent, but still pleasant. The brush holds a lot of product, which is perhaps where my problem with the product lies. It clumped. Really badly. With each application from the brush, I had to remove small clumps from my lashes. This was kind of tedious, for a process that should be quick and easy. Once I had removed the clumps, I was happy with the look and feel of the mascara. I just can get past the lumps. Brand Response:
