My go to brow pencil is the Maybelline brow precise micro eyebrow pencil - love it - and always stockpile when on sale! So I was interested to see & test how this new one differed & compared. I am pleasantly surprised that I like it and have been using daily. I was dubious about the short small brush on one end of the pencil - but it's actually pretty good! The pencil itself is chunkier than the brow precise one, and slightly waxier, but I like the colour, texture and size of the pencil itself. Also being a mechanical eyebrow pencil - it doesn't require sharpening - which is always a bonus. Completely build-able, I chose the blonde colour as I don't like really fake drawn on dark eyebrows, and this works great - giving me defined but natural looking brows that don't look obviously filled in. I will be purchasing more in the future - a new favourite!

I have to admit I do own a couple of the Maybelline Nude palettes and quite like them for everyday wear. I was excited to learn a new one was being introduced, to also include highlighters. It contains 8 eyeshadows & two highlighters, and I'm kinda not a fan of the colour selection of this one :( Some of the eyeshadows and the 2 highlighters are SUPER frosty, which will work on many people - just not a look I favor these days. The darker shadows are really pigmented and a tad too dark for my eye shape (deep set, hooded), so again not really ideal for me. I think if you were into experimenting with looks, you could get some good combinations with this palette . I'd prefer to see them release a palette that contained a highligher, blush & bronzer along with say 3 coloured eyeshadows - so you could literally pack it in your bag and have all the essentials at your fingertips.

Maybelline has released another great mascara product - and such a cute colour wand too! Whilst the tube is a little on the bulky size, the applicator isn't completely round, but has a flat side to it, which makes holding & application easy. The brush size I found a little too large & long, I prefer a mine to be a bit shorter and have a bit of a curve to them - like their ' The Falsies' mascara brush - which I'm a huge fan of! The actual product is great - doesn't clump, not overly wet or dry, doesn't smudge or flake - pretty ideal really. I liked that volume was easily build-able, could achieve the 'fan effect' on the lashes and length looked alright too. Lasted all day long with no issues, so I would consider purchasing in the future. I'd live to see it repackaged in a smaller tube and have a curved brush. It's a close contender to my ultimate favourite mascara from Maybelline - The Falsies, but that one seems to suit my eye shape better :)

I purchased this after reading rave reviews about it - and when priceline had a sale on. LOVE this cleanser. It makes eye makeup removal so easy, it doesn't leave my skin felling either dry or greasy, I don't feel like I have to wash my face straight after using it and it doesn't have a scent - bonus! I've tried a few other brands - that left a weird film on my face or had funky scents etc and this brand is by far the best. It also doesn't burn/sting my eyes - which inevitably happens with other brands when using to remove mascara. I will repurchase this again - but only when on sale - I refuse to pay the full RRP in Australia for this - too expensive!

Having been a L'oreal mascara fan for over a decade, I finally started trying a few others once ‘drugstore’ brands started being priced a bit better in Australia. This one is a winner for me! After trying multiple duds, I’ve found this one to work really well. It’s formula is neither too wet or dry, it doesn’t clump, the wand has stayed clump free, gives a nice fan effect on the lashes whilst showing both length & volume. I will be stocking up on this mascara in future! Give it a try when you see it on sale :)

I've been using the Velvet Volume False Lash Effect Mascara for the past few weeks and I like the formula of it. Its quite thin, but hasn't clumped on me at all and gives a really soft lash feel - not brittle at all like so many other brands. Haven't had a problem with any smudging, although it took me a while to become used to the rather long & wide wand. I feel it did add volume to my lashes and fanned them out, however it didn't really give that much definition for length. this could possibly be overcome by curling your lashes beforehand, or possibly building layers up. I found one coat was sufficient for a nice defined natural day to day look. I think the term 'false lash effect' could be a bit misleading for those seeking more of a statement lashes look. Great formula -have enjoyed using it and very worthwhile purchasing.

I tried the light version, and it was considerably darker on my skin tone, so in that respect it wasn't a good match. Having said that, if you are seeking a short term body foundation type product, this might work over choosing a instant tan product. And that's where I'm confused about this product. It claims it's to be used as a body foundation to eliminate the appearance of veins, freckles, imperfections etc, but it didn't work on my legs at all. I have some spider veins on my inner thighs near my knees, applied this liquid thinking it would cover them like a foundation but nope, just drew more attention to that area if anything! Then tried on 1 dark freckle on my calve & again the texture was far too thin to remotely conceal it. Tried to layer the product on to see if coverage could be built up, and didn't have a good result. I then tried on top of some blue looking veins on my feet. Worked marginally better on those, but not by much and my feet ended up looking oddly tanned due to dark color, so would want to use it all over the legs to not have areas stand out. Tried to camouflage some fading bruises, but its too thin in texture to do so. Not really suitable for spot applications if the color isn't a correct match. As a body makeup, this sucked. Sorry Sally Hansen & BH! I don't like giving critical feedback but this product either needs to be reformulated to make it thicker or rebranded as it doesn't do what it advertises.

I've been trialling the Olay Youth Pre Essence & I've happily been surprised by how much I like it! For the (affordable) price you get quite a lot of product, in a nicely packaged red bottle with silver applicator top. When you twist the lid open the applicator button pops up allowing the serum to been drawn into the glass dropper applicator. Reminds me of the Estee Lauder product, so well done on the packaging! The serum is clear & very liquid, so I didn't require a full dropper amount to cover all of my face. It has a slight shampoo scent that fades quickly, & the essence aborbs fast with no sticky, tacky or heavy feeling left on the skin. Various moisturisers applied well over the top (including sunscreen) & my skin hasn't reacted at all whilst using it, so that right there is a win for me! My fine lines have improved since starting to use the essence & I'll continue use until the bottle is finished.....& even consider purchasing it when that day arrives. My skin looks & feels hydrated without any oiliness - congrats to Olay for a great looking product that works well!

Revitalift laser x3 is a thick luxurious cream that's a budget friendly find, since only a small amount is required per use. They advise using it all over your face, however I found it worked better for me in only areas that required it, like around the eyes. It literally blured fine lines & wrinkles! I initially did use it all over my face, but it made my foundation applied over it 'ball' up & caused some breakouts. It also doesn't have any spf so that would be another layer to add on top which i don't think my skin could cope with daily! One of my bug bears is the persistent use of large jars. A pump bottle is so much more convienient, hygenic & keeps the cream stable since its not being exposed to air all the time. If they rereleased it in a bottle i would definitely consider buying in the future! It worked amazingly well around my eyes, I am impressed.

I received this cream as part of the trial team, & I was really looking forward to using it. The packaging is pretty, particularly the lid, but I always prefer pump bottles over jars. This moisturizer contains a lot of ingredients I previously hadn't heard of but sound amazing! Juvefoxo for starters, diamond & black pearl (for radiance) & PatcH20 apparently for hydration. And there in was the problem for me. I typically have combination/oily skin, but for some reason, this product just wasn't moisturizing enough - very odd for me - usually the opposite! I don't know if it's been the odd cold weather in my area recently but this cream just didn't leave my skin feeling nourished after application. I also broke out in spots on my face (oh the horror) within days of use - and they were only getting worse daily - my skin was not simply readjusting to a new product. My normal liquid foundation applied really badly over this cream - again - the drying effect just wasn't a good look for me. I read the ingredients list and it contains dimethicone, which from memory my skin hates :( Coming up to spring / summer, I would also require a sunscreen product which this doesn't contain and I'm pretty sure my skin wouldn't handle another layer of product over this cream. Alas - this isn't a product for me, guess I miss out on 'eternal youth' ;)
