As part of the trial team I received the Nioxin thickening hair kit. It comes with three different products including the shampoo, conditioner and scalp and hair treatment. I like the design and packaging of the products. The shampoo and conditioner had a fresh and minty scent which I really liked. The shampoo left my hair and scalp feeling clean, fresh and light. The conditioner softened my hair and made it more manageable without being too heavy or greasy. I’ve noticed my hair looking a bit thicker and more voluminous after using the products. The scalp treatment was also easy to use but I found that it left my hair and scalp feeling a bit oily and heavy. Overall I can see that my hair looks and feels thicker. It’s a good hair kit if you have thin hair and want your hair to look thicker.

The Olay Regenerist micro sculpting face cream has all the things I look for in a moisturiser. It is hydrating without being too heavy or greasy. It has active ingredients like niacinamide which help to even out the skin tone and peptides which assist with firming the skin and decreasing wrinkles. I would apply this both morning and evening including my neck and décolletage. For my oily skin I find that the cream is suitable. Since using the face cream my face feels smoother and more even. I'm still not at that age where I have noticeable lines and wrinkles but I like using products that have anti ageing benefits.

I am someone who has been using retinol for many years now and I'm aware of all the amazing benefits that comes with using using products with this amazing ingredient. The Neutrogena visible repair serum is gentle and doesn't cause the irritation, redness and skin flaking that can sometimes come with using retinol products. It has a milky texture and it applies nicely onto the skin. I've been using it for several weeks and some things that I noticed is that it took some time to see results. My skin felt soft and smooth and didn't have as much texture as before. I would use this at night and apply it on my face and neck. I never came across any irritation or skin issues when using the serum. I think it's a good product if you are a beginner with retinol products and want something more gentle. Personally, because I have used prescription strength retinol I found this to be gentle on the skin.

The Avene radiance intensive cream is moisturising and has the benefits of vitamin C to help brighten and improve the overall appearance of your skin. I really liked the vitamin C serum from Avene and I think the cream is just as good. If your skin is more on the dry side I think the cream would be better suited for you. Its got a nice consistency and besides vitamin C it also contains niacinamide and shea butter. It is of course hydrating and leaves your skin feeling soft. With continued use I've noticed my complexion looks brighter and more even.

The Avene vitamin C serum is a great way to incorporate vitamin C into your skincare routine. I personally prefer serums more than creams because I like the lighter consistency and find that it absorbs really easily and suits my oily and acne prone skin. The serum comes with a dropper and you apply it onto your face and neck. The texture of the serum is lightweight but still slightly creamy. It's not a watery serum and it feels hydrating on the skin. It's very gentle and gives my skin a nice glow. I haven't noticed much fading in dark spots but my skin does look slightly brighter.

The Avene AHA exfoliating serum is a good product to use if you have oily and acne prone skin. The serum comes in a 30ml bottle with a dropper. The serum is a liquid with a very lightweight and watery texture. It's very easy to apply and the texture allows your skin to absorb it really quickly. It doesn't feel sticky nor does it cause any irritation. It contains 3 different acids including lactic acid, succinic acid and glutamic acid. I've found that since using this serum my skin feels softer, it has improved the texture of my skin, it has minimised my breakouts and my skin looks more even.

At the BeautyHeaven Best in Beauty event we received the Revlon illuminance serum concealer and it couldn't have come at a better time as I had been needing a new concealer. I liked the sound of a serum concealer because it would not only hydrate the skin but would help to brighten and even out the skin whilst still feeling lightweight. It provides coverage but doesn't look or feel heavy or caked on. You can use it for your under eyes to brighten the area but it's also good for covering up blemishes. It is easy to apply and also blends nicely into the skin.

The Revlon Illuminance Glow Filter is a four in one makeup product that helps to give your skin a natural glow. The product is applied with a doe foot applicator which I actually liked because you could be precise with your application and then blend it out with a makeup sponge or brush. It does blend into the skin really nicely and in the bottle it does look pigmented but when you apply it the colour is very sheer creating a very natural, minimal makeup look which I actually really like. It's good for those "no makeup" makeup days. It adds a nice glow without making your face look oily or greasy. You can wear it on its own, as a base for your foundation or after your foundation to add some extra glow to certain areas of your face.

The Plantur 39 photo caffeine shampoo is meant to be for hair over forty and those with fine, brittle hair. I'm not forty nor do I have fine hair. My hair is more thick but it can definitely be brittle especially with the heat styling that I do. With that said, I still think this is a great shampoo even if you technically don't fall within the categories it's advertised for. It smells great and lathers really well which I personally like because if I'm washing my hair I want it to lather to ensure it's getting a good clean! The shampoo leaves my hair and scalp feeling really clean, removing impurities and build up without feeling dry or like it's lacking moisture.

I like my conditioner to soften, detangle and smooth my hair whilst also providing hydration and minimising frizz without being too heavy or greasy. The Plantur 39 Caffeine Conditioner has a citrusy scent and a creamy texture that is meant to help those who have coloured and stressed hair. I read the directions which says to leave it in for 30 seconds. I left mine in for a couple of minutes before washing it out because I wanted to get the full benefits of this conditioner. After washing it out I didn't notice a huge difference. The good things about the conditioner was that it didn't leave any residue nor did it leave my hair feeling heavy. The downsides were that it wasn't as hydrating as I expected and it didn't do much to soften and detangle my hair.
