We received 2 x 5ml bottles to try, with a separate eye dropper which can be used to replace the cap of one of the bottles when you open it. The bottles are made of dark glass, to better preserve the contents. The dropper dispenses the appropriate amount of product. I really wanted to love this – they had me at finger lime! Unfortunately, it did not work as well as I’d hoped. Firstly, it felt sticky on application, and was still sticky the next morning. The next time I tried it on wet skin, and it was still sticky. I stopped using it after this, as I developed a couple of milia on my face, so it wasn’t worth preserving with it, lest I get more milia. I was so disappointed, as I really wanted to love this. As I had to stop using it, I wasn’t really able to judge how effective it was at healing skin conditions as claimed. Something I found really strange – there was no information with the product on how to use, how much, how often etc. I checked their website, but there was no information there either – very strange.

This mask comes in well sealed pot. Pots don’t tend to be my favourite packaging for masks, as it can get quite messy and unhygienic getting the product out. Fortunately, in this instance Dermalume have avoided this by giving us the Masking Tool which has a flat silicone paddle on one end, which is very handy for removing product from the pot. I didn’t use the tool to spread the mask on my face, I preferred to just use my fingers. The mask is a light green colour with a faint scent that to me smelt like cucumber, although I don’t think that is an ingredient. It felt very cooling to my skin – I imagine this would feel really nice on a hot summer’s day. I only apply a thin layer, and it dries on my skin, cracking slightly, although not in an unpleasant way. I have dry, sensitive skin, and this mask didn’t irate me and left my skin feeling soft and well moisturised. I really liked this mask, but probably wouldn’t buy it as it appears to only be available from their website. If it were more widely available, I probably would buy it.

This sunscreen is supposed to have a matte finish. I have dry skin, and I thought that it made my face look shiny, as most sunscreens do. However, when I mentioned this to other people, they thought it did look matte, it certainly didn’t look too shiny to others. This sunscreen is tinted, but although I am very pale it did not provide any colour on my face. I was hoping to be able to use this to replace my foundation on days when I only want/need light coverage from a foundation, but as it didn’t show any colour on my skin, I felt like I would still need to apply foundation over it. It hasn’t been particularly hot or sunny when I have used this sunscreen, so haven’t really been able to test its effectiveness as a very high protection sunscreen, but I did not experience any sunburn or colouring (I don’t tan) whilst wearing it. Interestingly, given that most companies tend to over-exaggerate and under-deliver in the claims they make about their products, Hamilton actually say on the box – “regular use may help to reduce the risk of some skin cancers”. They certainly aren’t making any over-exaggerated claims! Overall, it was pretty good, but not outstanding.

This is a full size brush with a matte black handle and a brown-bronze metal ferule. The synthetic bristles on this brush were very soft but were densely packed so it provided enough support to work well with the foundation. The brush does a fantastic job of applying the foundation smoothly and blends well. Its fairly small, tapered point allows for good coverage around small areas like the nose and eyes. It didn't seem to absorb too much foundation as some other brushes have a tendency to do. I have only washed it once, but so far no bristles have fallen out, either whilst using or washing the brush. To date I have only used the brush with the Nude By Nature Luminous Sheer Liquid Foundation, but I imagine it would perform equally well with other liquid foundations. This brush is a pleasure to use, and I will happily continue to use it. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a synthetic brush to apply liquid foundation.

I wonder if there is any separation of the product as occurred with the foundation, but it is difficult to tell as it comes in a light cream coloured plastic tube which does not show the product inside. The tube has a slant tip without an applicator, so it is probably more hygienic than wand-type applicator tubes. I don’t have any dark circles of puffiness under my eyes, so I cannot attest to the concealer’s effectiveness in this area. I do have a couple of dark spots on my cheeks, and found that even after applying a couple of layers of the concealer, the marks were still visible. I got the concealer in the light shade 01 Ivory, and found that it didn’t match my skin as well as the foundation did. This feels a bit sticky, and gathers on my dry patches. I did not like the concealer as much as I liked the foundation, and probably wouldn’t purchase it myself.

A word of warning – this foundation does not look very promising in the bottle. It appears to have separated, and the bottle looks to be about ¼ empty. However, we were advised in an email that this is normal due to the natural ingredients, and to simply shake it well before use. After shaking well, the foundation applied easily, showing no signs of its earlier separation. I got this in the palest shade C1 Ivory as I have very fair skin. I honestly did not expect this to be a good colour match, as I normally don’t have much luck with drugstore foundations. To my surprise, this is actually a pretty good match for my fair skin. This foundation gave a light, natural looking coverage. I have dry skin, and when I applied the foundation for the first time I forgot to apply moisturiser first, and to my surprise this did not apply patchy, even on drier spots. I have since used this again without first applying moisturiser or primer, and it has still applied beautifully. It has been quite hot and humid here in Qld whilst I have been using this foundation, and it has worn quite nicely and has not slide straight off my face as frequently happens with other foundations in this heat. Overall, I am impressed with this foundation. I would recommend it to anyone with dry skin wanting a light, natural looking coverage.

This brush set is called the Essential Collection, but I think this set would be better if it had either the Kabuki OR the Powder brush (not both), and included a blush/highlighter brush. This would make the set a more complete, all-purpose collection. The brush set comes in a nice faux leather case, with plenty of room to add more brushes or even some small makeup items. Due to the short turn-around time for reviews, I didn’t have the chance to wash all the brushes. I did however, give the Kabuki brush a quick wash just to see if it sheds or colour runs, but so far so good. I also cleaned the lip and eye defining brushes with makeup wipes, and no bristles came out. My pet peeve with this brush set – the brush name is stamped on the handles in a grey shade that is only slightly lighter than the charcoal grey of the handle itself, so it is extremely difficult to read – and my close-up eyesight is excellent! Kabuki brush – I really liked this brush. I wear loose mineral powder foundation, so I used this brush to apply the powder. The brush is quite wide and very soft. It was a little too wide to fit in the powder container, so some of the bristles splayed out, so for this reason I probably would not use it with this particular mineral powder on a regular basis. It worked quite well at applying my foundation, and felt so much softer than the built-in brush that comes with the powder. Powder brush – Really nice and fluffy, does a good job of applying loose powder. Concealer brush – I don’t wear concealer, so haven’t tested this out. Very soft, but probably a bit large for a concealer brush. Eye Shadow brush – far too big to apply eyeshadow, unless you have very large lids! I think it will work well as a highlighter brush though. Eye Blending brush – a little too large for careful blending of shadows. Eye Definer brush – angled to blend eyeliner. Too big and soft to use to apply gel eyeliner or blend eyeliner on my eyelid. I prefer a more narrow and stiff brush for this purpose. Lip brush – a little bigger that other lip brushes I normally use. Gets the job done, but due to its size it is difficult to get a precise line.

I tested the Moisture Infusion Lipgloss in the shade 08 – Violet Pink. This was not pink based as expected from the name, it leans brown-pink. I’m not really a gloss girl, but I didn’t mind this gloss. It comes packaged in a clear plastic tube which accurately shows the colour of the gloss inside. The applicator wand had a long flexible tip, but not so much so that it was difficult to use. The gloss wore off fairly quickly, within a couple of hours, as is typical with lip glosses. It left my lips feeling moisturised and soft. Interestingly, although the lipstick bled a little, I did not experience this at all with the gloss. True to its claims, this gloss is not sticky. Both the lipgloss and the lipstick have the same pleasant orange scent. If you are a fan of lip glosses, you will probably enjoy using this.

I received the 08 – Garnet shade in the Moisture Shine Lipstick to try. It was not as dark or red as the name implies, more of a brick red colour. This is not a colour I would have chosen, so my review is based on the quality of the lipstick and doesn’t consider the colour. The lipstick case has a very secure magnetic closure, which closes with a satisfying thunk. I tried to shake the lid off, but it wouldn’t budge, so I think the chances of it coming off in my handbag are very slim. The lipstick goes on easily and smoothly, although I did find it bled slightly outside my lip line. It was very moisturising, and even after the colour wore down after a few hours, my lips were still hydrated. The colour lasted for about 4 hours, longer than I expected from such a shiny lipstick.

The Du’It Tough Hands for Her has a pleasant smell, I think it smells a little of apple pie? I prefer this subtle fragrance, as I sleep with my hands near my face and I don’t like it if my hand cream has too strong a scent. This is a thicker, white opaque cream. It feels a little waxy/greasy on application, although it absorbs quickly as long as you only apply a little. I think it would be easy to apply too much, and would then not absorb very well. Thanks to the colder weather, my hands and cuticles have been very dry recently. Regular use of this cream has definitely helped to improve the condition of my hands, but hasn’t helped my cuticles much. I think only an oil will help them. It claims to “soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles”, although I can’t really comment on the veracity of this, as I think a couple of weeks use is not really long enough to judge. At this time of year, I’m just happy with a hand cream that prevents dry skin.
