I hadn't heard of Nioxin before this trial, but I have used Wella haircare and loved it, and Nioxin is made by Wella. I have enjoyed using the Nioxin Scalp + Hair Thickening System 3 Trial Kit for the past eight weeks. The shampoo has a refreshing peppermint fragrance, which is quite strong, but doesn't linger in my hair afterwards which is good. The light blue shampoo (which matches the packaging!) lathers well in my hair, and leaves it feeling clean. The conditioner is a thick white cream that moisturises my hair well - I can feel the softening effect when I rinse it out. Finally, the third step - the Scalp + Hair Treatment - is a clear liquid that I squirt directly onto my scalp and hair, and which absorbs easily into my hair. The Nioxin set leaves my hair clean and has protected my colour, which is great. My hair is slightly drier or more tangly than usual - not terribly so, but a bit. I didn't use any other haircare products, so I could really see the impact of this set, but I probably could do with extra conditioner or leave in treatments. I had a bit less hair falling out in each wash, so I think it did have an impact. Overall, a nice refreshing minty haircare set.

I haven't used wax strips in many, many years, as I epilate my legs, so I was keen to try the new Nads Strawberries and Cream Extra Long Wax Strips, which I received in the Beauty Heaven Discovery Bag. I am impressed at how easy they are to use - these wax strips are so much better than wax strips of the past! I used the strips on my legs, and they were so quick and easy to use: just stick one side of the strip down on my skin and pull it up quickly, and most of the hair was pulled out! Very impressive hair pulling ability compared to wax strips I'd used years ago - these Nads ones really remove lots of hair! I was even able to reapply and reuse the wax strips to go all around each leg - the pulling power of this wax is so impressive. They do not leave too much wax behind on my legs either - again in stark contract to old wax strips. The post wax calming oil wipes are great too: they immediately remove any bits of wax left on my skin and also leave a soothing oil on my legs. The only downside of this box is that there are only 4 calming oil wipes, but 20 wax strips - I'll definitely need more wipes. I really am impressed by how easy and quick these wax strips are to use - Nads have really perfected the wax strips since I last used them many, many years ago. I love them now!

I was actually thinking about buying an eyebrow dye, as I have some grey hairs - not many, but enough for me to start thinking about eyebrow dye - so I was very pleased to receive this kit in the Beauty Heaven Discovery Bag. The 1000 Hour Lash and Brow Dye Kit is the first eyebrow dye kit that I have ever used, and I was impressed with how easy it is to use. All I needed was in the kit (there are instructions to use vaseline around the edge of your eyebrows, but I didn't and just applied the dye very carefully, keeping to my eyebrow line). I only used it on my eyebrows, which are naturally very dark brown/almost black, and it covered the grey hairs effectively. I am so impressed with this neat little kit - what a great product!

I received the TRESemme Keratin Smooth Step No 3 Hair Serum in the Beauty Heaven Discovery Bag. The leave-in serum leaves my hair smooth and soft, and reduces frizz in my hair. I have been working it through my hair after washing, from the mid-lengths to the ends. The oils in the serum are what make it so smoothing, including coconut oil, argan oil, sweet almond oil, and sunflower seed oil. The handy pump pack is easy to use and the 100mL size should last a while, as I only use a small amount. The serum has a lovely deep fruity fragrance that is subtle on my hair. As a viscous clear liquid, the serum is easy to apply on my hair and absorbs well.

I have been enjoying using the Goldwell Dualsenses Colour Repair and Radiance Balm since receiving it in the Beauty Heaven Discovery Bag. The balm leaves my hair noticeably softer and smoother, and I can particularly feel the effect when I wash my hair of how smooth my strands are. I have been using the recommended hazelnut sized amount of the balm, and working it through my hair from mid-lengths to the ends and leaving it in. The squeeze tube with a screw-top lid is easy to use. The balm has a sweet fruity fragrance that reminds me of tropical fruit juice, but it is quite a gentle scent, so not obtrusive on my hair.

I have been using the Rejuvaus Bright and Correct Niacinamide Serum since receiving it in the Beauty Heaven Discovery Bag. I was excited to use such a luxurious serum, and I am pleased with how it leaves my skin smooth and soft. The clear plastic rectangular prism container, with an internal metallic tube in rose gold colour that graduates down to a silver metal colour, is striking and attractive. The formula is meant to reduce the appearance of pigmentation, but I possibly have not been using it for long enough to see this effect. The serum does deliver on brightening my skin and making it look dewy and smooth.

I have been enjoying using the DermaGen by Botanical Chemist Skin Recovery Lotion daily since receiving it in the BeautyHeaven Discovery Bag. I use it on my hands, arms and legs, and can feel the nourishing and moisturising effect on my skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated. The lotion comes in a pump bottle, which dispenses a good amount. The gentle botanical fragrance is pleasant, and reminds me of the botanical oils in the ingredients: manuka oil, evening primrose oil, and hemp seed oil. While it says it is for face and body, the thick creaminess feels like it is better suited to my body skin, so I have just been using it on my hands and body. This is a lovely natural moisturiser.

I received the Isocol Rubbing Alcohol Antiseptic Multipurpose Anti-Bacterial Lotion in the BeautyHeaven Discovery Bag, and have actually bought and used this before. It's a great small sized spray bottle, which can be carried around anywhere. We use it for grazes on my little one's skin to keep bacteria out, I used it on a cut on my hand and it helped heal it up much faster than usual, and it has even helped heal a fungal infection on my husband's foot. The lotion has a sweet fragrance, that reminds me of candy canes. It is gentle on the skin and doesn't leave my skin feeling dry at all. A great multipurpose antiseptic.

The Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is a nice everyday moisturiser, that leaves my skin feeling hydrated. The fragrance is a bit too strong and it reminds me of shampoo (specifically, the Procter & Gamble shampoos, who also make Olay). I like that it comes in a screw top pot, so I can access the cream easily and take out the amount that I like. The cream did pill on my skin, leaving white balls which were visible, but this reduced over the weeks that I used the cream - possibly as my skin got used to the cream. The Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is a decent everyday moisturiser (that just needs a bit of refining in the formula - scent and pilling).

I am loving using the Neutrogena Visible Repair Eye Cream, as it makes my skin feel so soft and smooth. I wondered about using pure retinol around the eyes, in terms of irritation, but this eye cream didn't irritate or dry out my skin at all, it was wonderful from the first use. I like the stylish grey and white tube, which has a fine nozzle so I can squeeze out a controlled amount of the cream. Actually, a few times I used the eye cream as an all over facial cream and loved the glowy and smoothing effect it has on my whole face - not what it was designed for, but I loved it! The rosemary peptide complex for improving radiance, and the comfort complex which contains soothing ingredients, are possibly why it works so well across my whole face. Beautiful cream!
