About me

I am a senior graphic designer, with a passion for beauty products, packaging, makeup. I worked as a graphic designer for several years but prefer to keep makeup as a hobby. I have also done extensive work in graphic design for beauty products, advertising, and PR. Since I was a little girl I always loved the wonderful shimmer and colour of makeup, as well as the powder puffs and scent. I can still remember the first lipstick I tried on. It was an Avon sample in reddish pink. That love of makeup continued into my teens when I was given the Revlon Book of Beauty, which was all about skincare, nails and makeup. I also copied the makeup techniques in Dolly, Cosmo and Cleo magazines. Boy George's makeup was another source for inspiration. Heading out of the 80's grunge meets glam look I was going for, I headed into art school chic, with short cropped, bleached hair. I had to cut it as I got a perm earlier that year which, coupled with my highlights, turned my hair into dreadlocks. After college I moved to the northern beaches of Sydney and embraced the beachy look; tanned, bronzed, long streaked blonde hair, dark liner with pink lipstick, thin brows. You get the idea. Now? I am in my 40's and still love makeup, and my focus now is on my eyes or lips, a foundation shade to match my body, I contour, highlight and blush, my eyebrows are always filled in as the overplucking of the 90's mean I have practially invisible brows. My nails are currently sporting a ballerina shape (or coffin of you prefer), with shellac in a neutral pink or grey. I cannot live without my L'Oreal True Match Foundation in N2 or N3 (depending on the time of year), my Maybelline Strobe Cream, Tarte Holiday 2016 palette, Nake 3 by Urban Decay.
