This product was gifted to me as part of the Olay trial team. The Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting cream comes in a jar, with a twist lock lid with no spatula. Would have preferred this cream to come with a little spatula and as a fragrance free cream. There is a known Olay scent that’s mild but fades 30 seconds after application. I’m not fond of the scent and for reference I am currently experiencing oily t-zone, dull skin and a bit of sensitivity around my cheeks. Aside from the scent. I do enjoy using this cream as my evening moisturiser. From the second night of using it, I could almost feel that my skin felt soft and hydrated. I can’t say wrinkles or fine lines have completely diminished, but I haven’t noticed any new fine lines creeping up on my forehead. My skin also feels smoother and supple. I received compliments from work colleagues about how young I look. I’m in my early forties and although I don’t look it, I’ve been told I look more like in my twenties! I think it’s thanks to my Asian genes, but also having a great skincare routine! Can see myself finishing this cream but wouldn’t repurchase due to the scent, so I would use the fragrance free version if they have one available.

This product was gifted to me as part of the Neutrogena trial team. The Neutrogena visible repair night moisturiser comes in pump bottle with lid to help disperse the right amount of product you need for your skin. It is also hygienically friendly so it is less contamination if the product was stored in a twist lid jar. There is a subtle Neutrogena scent but not overpowering. If you have used Neutrogena products before, the scent I feel is their OG scent. Would have loved this in a fragrance free night moisturiser. For reference I have experienced sensitive, oily and dry skin type. I often have to rotate my moisturisers seasonally. I am in my early forties and have used retinol as part of my evening skincare routine since I became a mum many years back. It has always been on and off rotating between using retinol serums or retinol night creams. This one from Neutrogena has been a godsend. While it has a known scent, I haven’t found it to irritate my sensitive-dry skin. I especially enjoy that my skin looked fresh from the first night I incorporated into my skin routine. I have quite a minimal evening routine so if I don’t apply a serum post double cleansing, I go straight into using this cream. I have used retinol for a long time so I have gone into using this product every night for about a week now. The consistency is somewhat like a lotion, light and creamy. I use about 2 pumps to cover my face and neck areas. I enjoy this part of my skin routine because my skin just soaks it up, keeping my skin hydrated overnight, the fragrance doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin and I am noticing the fine lines on my forehead are not as visible. I know they’re still there, but not as obvious as before. It doesn’t leave a greasy film but rather a comfortable satin finish. It feels comfortable and doesn’t transfer to my pillows. The more I use this, my skin appears brightened and I just enjoy that it could help to tame future fine lines from reappearing and appearing on my skin.

This product was gifted to me as part of attending the Best in Beauty Marketplace Event. The Plantur 39 Phyto-Caffeine conditioner is suitable for coloured and stressed hair. Just like the pairing of the phyto-caffeine shampoo, I am fairly new to this brand so I have no expectations or could compare to anything like it. For context, I have oily roots, dry ends, thick, wavy short hair. I don’t colour my hair anymore but I feel like it would be great to use once or twice a week. It shares similar scent to the shampoo that I mentioned, which smells so nice on the hair. Since I don’t have coloured hair or stressed hair, so far it’s helped to keep my hair feel soft and nourished every time I used it.

This product was gifted to me as part of attending the Best in Beauty Marketplace Event. The Plantur 39 Phyto-Caffeine Shampoo is suitable for fine and brittle hair. I am in my early forties and I never thought to use a line of haircare products that catered for age groups. I am fairly new to this brand so I have no expectations or could compare to anything like it. For context, I have oily thinning roots, dry ends, thick, wavy short hair. Post pregnancy several years back I went through hair thinning, which left me with low self esteem, no confidence and often wore hats to cover my thinning hair. I use this shampoo a couple of times a week (recommended to use it daily) but I don’t wash my hair everyday. I wash my hair first and then apply the shampoo, and leave it on for about 2 minutes. It helps to thoroughly cleanse my oily roots. My hair feels soft and nourished. It has a subtle kind of green-floral scent that lingers and fades over time, which I don’t mind. I need to use it more to see if it would make my hair feel stronger. I’m not too bothered if it doesn’t add volume as I have quite thick hair at the bottom half of my head.

This product was gifted to me as part of attending the Best in Beauty Marketplace Event. The Lonvitalite Platinum Contour Roller is beautifully boxed and looks so bougie. I’ve never been one to try these types of facial tools and nor do I know if they actually do anything. I tried it post cleansing and after applying a facial oil and while it feels soothing and a calming treat for my skin, I can’t tell if it’s done much apart from how it makes my skin feel afterwards. It’s a bit of gimmick for me. I suppose if my skin was feeling stressed and I needed to pamper it, this would be in the skincare line up. I also tried it after placing in the fridge and that’s a nice feeling as well, I think in the long term, I don’t see this as something I would use consistently as I like to keep my skincare steps pretty minimal and straight to the point.

This product was gifted to me as part of attending the Best in Beauty Marketplace Event. The Revlon Illuminance Glow Filter comes with a doe foot wand which should have been a pump. The 4-in-1 gives a light to buildable coverage. I rarely wear makeup nowadays, unless for special occasions. For context I dry, sensitive-combination skin type with a light-medium neutral skin tone. To look put together, I would prefer to use this as a tinted moisturiser for a no makeup day. I apply about 1/4 of a pea size on the back of my hand and dab with my finger on areas that I need a bit of touching up. It helps to blur out some of my large pores in particular near my nose and cheeks. It leaves a nice satin finish of my skin, which appears natural and that’s what I like. Other times I would use it as a spot concealer when I’m a bit lazy and time poor. The colour-match is close, but you can go either way, up a shade or down a shade and it literally blends in well with my skin tone.

This product was gifted to me as part of attending the Best in Beauty Marketplace Event. The Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Cleansing Oil is one I’ve wanted to try. Normally, I am a cleansing balm type of girl. I’ve used many different brands but always stayed true to a couple of balms that have worked better on my skin. For context, I have dry, sensitive-combination skin type. I’ve tried other cleansing oils in the past but have never been converted to using them regularly. This micellar cleansing oil is for sensitive skin types and is gentle to use around the eye area. It’s an interesting formula as it applies in an oil base on dry skin, but once mixed with water it forms into a milky consistency. It doesn’t foam up, which is not something I like, but it still cleanses away impurities, makeup and sunscreen. You can even use it as a cleanser if you double cleanse. It doesn’t feel like it strips away your natural oils or leave a tight skin feeling like some other oil cleansers you might have used before. It left my skin soothed, calm, and clean feeling. You can even use the sensitive micellar water after this step to ensure that all traces of impurities are removed.

The John Frieda Frizz Ease Extra Strength Serum is one of the first styling hair products I used to use for many years. The formula may have changed slightly from memory, but this time it’s lightweight and doesn’t weigh down on my hair. The packing looks different too. I felt like it’s helped to reduce the frizz on top of my head and tame the flyaways better than before. For context, I have thick, dark-greying, wavy and short hair. I don’t use much of it as a little bit does go a long way. If this serum is an improved version then I’m all for it because there’s nothing like spending money on hair serums that feel greasy or oily and don’t do anything. I feel like this one is working better and one I could repurchase.

This product was gifted to me as part of attending the Best in Beauty Marketplace Event. The Burt’s Bees Ultra Conditioning Moisturising Lip Balm is said to help soften and hydrate chapped, dry and crackling lips. I have used their other flavoured lip balms that were very nice and worked in preventing my lips from drying out. Since I don’t suffer from extremely serve dry lips, I didn’t particularly enjoy wearing this one. I didn’t feel it nourished or kept my lips hydrated. It was not my favourite lip balm from this brand so I haven’t gravitated to it like I do when lip balms do their job right. It didn’t glide on my lips smoothly and not kept my lips feel supple and conditioned. I have to reapply more often than usual and it’s not like the other lip balms in their collection. A little disappointing as I have loved their other lip balms and lip scrub always go well hand in hand.

This product was gifted to me as part of attending the Best in Beauty Marketplace Event. The Dr Wolff’s V-San Intimate Wash Lotion is a new brand for me. I have and for many years been using FemWash sensitive. To try something different and from a different brand was never on my agenda. I’ve been using daily and while it is gentle for the intimate area of my body, I don’t like that there is a scent. It foams up and cleanses the area nicely, but the scent is not my favourite. I much prefer a non-fragranced intimate wash since that is all I know and what I have used for years. What got me curious is the ingredient—lactic acid. I’m not one to gravitate to reading ingredients for this type of product, but it was nice to learn that it can help to balance pH levels, support skin’s natural acid and help to soothe the delicate area.
