About me

I am now 63 so I'm always up for trialing anti-aging skin care products. So far L'Oreal Paris and Nivea have been my two favourite brands. I am considered fair skinned for an Asian. My choice of foundation shade is usually a medium beige or golden beige. Having the opportunity to trial various skin care products for Beauty Heaven I'm sure is the reason why I look younger than expected for my age. I have fine lines and wrinkles but my greatest concern is age spots. Each day I see more and more developing so I'd love to trial a product that will reduce the appearance of them. My skin is definitely on the dry side and is especially noticeable on my legs which tend to look scaly if I don't moisturise them. I love makeup and colour and I'm rather a bright person in that I like to smile a lot. I like wearing bright colours and coordinate my makeup and nails to suit. I'm not into gothic colours at all and they certainly don't suit. At this point in time, I am tending towards wearing the 16 -24 hr lipsticks that are long lasting, smudge and transfer proof. I suffer from thinning hair and every time I shampoo my hair, more hair than normal falls out. I DIY colour my hair regularly and wonder if it aids in increasing my hair fallout ? I regularly use hand and foot care products and exfoliate my feet regularly especially as my partner has a foot fetish. Lol !!! I also regularly use waxing products too and adore waxes that are water-soluble as it makes cleaning up so much easier. I use most skin care, nail and makeup products. The only products I don't use is self tanning products, hair styling products like mousse or gel or false nails. I prefer natural nails and I've never visited a Nail Salon. I maintain the healthy condition of my nails myself and am proud of them. After 8 years of being a Beauty Heaven Member, Beauty Heaven has granted me Platinum Member Status. I am absolutely thrilled about that. Being a Member of Beauty Heaven has so many advantages. I love getting chosen for Trials and writing the reviews on the free full size products that they send me. I also love taking part in the Beautorium and have purchased a few rather expensive products from it with my Beauty Heaven points. I believe that for my age, my skin is good partly thanks to Beauty Heaven and the ability to trial some of the latest products in skin care. Joining Beauty Heaven for me has been one of the best decisions of my life. It is so exciting and fun being a member. My most exciting news is that I have had cataract surgery so I no longer need to wear glasses which I have done since the age of 9. So I am so looking forward to wearing makeup regularly now that my eyes can be seen clearly. I will be interested in trialing makeup shades for older women especially when it comes to eyeshadow, blush and lipstick. Some of the YouTube Makeup Transformations on older, mature women that I have seen are just amazing !!!

Thicker Fuller Thickening Treatment

At last a thickening hair product that works !!!

The texture of my hair would not be classified as “fine” as each individual strand is quite thick being of the Asian variety. When I was young I had extremely thick hair but in my middle 20’s, I was diagnosed as having Primary Hypothyroidism and one of its symptoms is hair loss which gradually increased as I grew older. I am now 63 and I have been losing hair at such a rapid rate for the last 10 years that the result is that I can see through my hair to my scalp and there has been a loss in density. Having tried various brands of “thickening” shampoos and shampoos that claim to “increase voulme” to no avail, I ordered Grow Thicker Fuller Thickening Treatment in my last dash of desperation without having read the already numerous amount of rave Beauty Heaven reviews. This product is packaged in a 200ml plastic pump dispenser bottle with an extended nozzle to aid applying the product precisely onto the roots. The product is a clear soultion with a lovely calming fragrance due to it containing Patchouli plus other citrus and flower oils. I used this product after washing my hair with Head and Shoulders 2 in 1 Smooth and Silky and drying with a towel so that my hair was still damp. I parted my hair in sections and sprayed the product along the roots. As I wash my hair at night, I didn’t see the result until the next morning. In the morning, my hair was toussled but when I brushed it, there were no knots and my hair felt soft and not dry. This product actually worked to thicken my hair because when I parted my hair as usual, I could not see my scalp through my hair beside the parting. My hair was overall thicker, denser and fuller. I am extremely delighted with the result and happy to say that this effect has lasted till my next hair wash 3 days later. Grow Thicker Fuller Thickening Treatment really does what it says for my type of hair. It improves hair density, texture and volume to a point where my thinning hair isn’t noticeable because I can’t see my scalp through my hair. It has given me back the ability to socialise with confidence. I am so glad that I ordered this product from the Rewards Room and will definitely be buying this product again when my current bottle runs out.

Hair loss is one of the major concerns for me due to the fact that I suffer from Primary Hypothyroidism. So as each year passes, my hair has become so thin that I can see through it to my scalp especially where I have my side parting. Grow Thicker Fuller Root Volumiser Spray therefore took my interest in the Rewards Room and I decided to give it a try. This product is packaged in a 200ml size spray pump plastic bottle with a clear plastic lid to protect the aperture from dust or the pump from being unintentionally pressed down. It is a clear solution with a nice fragrance derived from a mixture of citrus and flower oils. I can distinctly smell the Patchouli Oil in it which is very pleasant and calming to my senses. Apart from being sulphate, silicone, paraben and over 90% natural cruelty free , this product is also Australian made. As I colour my hair regularly, I was pleased to find that this product is safe to be used on colour treated hair too for I didn't want to purchase a product that would strip my hair of colour. I got the best results when I used this product on my towel dried hair after washing my hair with Head and Shoulders 2 in 1 Smooth and Silky Shampoo/Conditioner but it is not immediate. I determine the effectiveness of this product by looking at my side parting and to be honest, I didn't notice any difference to its appearance on the day this product was applied. My parting was wide and I could see my scalp through the hairs at the side of it. It was on the 2nd day when I woke up and brushed and parted my hair that I noticed a difference in the size of my parting. It was narrower because hairs at the side seemed fuller and thicker such that my scalp was less visible through the hair. This effect also lasted until it was time to wash my hair again in 2 days' time. I am pleased with this product because it does give me the appearance of having more hair by thickening my hairs and concealing more of my scalp. It works for me and I hope that it works for ladies like me who have a hair loss condition similar to mine too.

Makes face massage simple

Face massage was not a part of my regular beauty rountine; not until I happily received the Manicare Contour Roller Set from Beauty Heaven to trial. Now I massage my face three times a week as recommended due to the fact that this product is so simple to use. The Manicare Contour Roller Set is completely made of metal with a slim, pale lilac long handle with two metal interchangable heads. The primary (Contour) roller head is Y-shaped with a free moving metallic ball on each branch of the Y. so that it glides easily on the skin without dragging it. The secondary (T-bar) roller head is a slightly curved T-shaped metal bar and is the eye massager. Both roller heads are made of an embony coloured metal which feels very to the touch. The product utilises one AA battery which powers it for up to 3 hours causing sonic vibrations. This product is very simple to use as the directions for use, with a diagram of the face and where to place the strokes, is wriiten on the back of the box that the set is packaged in. The Contour Roller is stroked 8-12 times over each area in an upwards direction. I use the Contour Roller on my face and neck after I’ve applied my facial serum and facial oil. The rollers feel cool on the skin and what I like most is that the roller balls roll freely over my skin without dragging it. I feel that pulling and stretching of the skin unnecessarily would tend to cause pre-mature wrinkles. Though there are no instructions as to how to use the T-bar, I assume that it is just placed under the eye area for a few seconds so that its vibrations helps to reduce any skin puffiness there. The sonic vibrations aid in improving blood circulation, relieving muscle tension and also helps in better penetration of the serum or facial oil. Prior to receiving the Manicare Contour Roller Set, I regularly massaged my neck by using the back of my hands to stroke my neck in an upwards motion. I read that this helps in tightening the neck muscles and slowing down the development of neck creases which is a tell tale sign of one’s age. This product replaces my hands doing the task and for that I am over joyed and extremely grateful. I haven’t been using this product long enough to notice a visible difference in my face shape but it feels good knowing that, in the long run, this product will help to tone and tighten my skin. I especially love the fact that it replaces massaging my neck with my hands because I do feel that I have less neck wrinkles from regular neck massage. Thank you Beauty Heaven and Manicare for giving me such a lovely product to trial.

Justifiably impressed with this product

I have trialed quite a few retinol-containing products for Beauty Heaven and I must confess that John Plunkett’s Super Lift Face Lift Treatment Serum has left me suitably impressed !!! I have been using this product for 2 weeks and already I am seeing a reduction in the depth of my deepest wrinkles. This product is packaged in a white, plastic 15ml pump dispenser bottle with a clear plastic lid. The serum is yellow and of a semi-fluid nature. It has a mild pleasant scent which isn’t noticeable once applied. This serum is remarkable in that it contains retinol, Dermaxyl, Vitamin E and hyaluronic acid. Dermaxyl consists of a “unique combination of ceramides and hexapeptide that reverses dry skin and visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles by 40%” and I believe that it is this ingredient that has had such a marked effect on my wrinkles. Being used to using retinol-containing products, I was able to start using this serum nightly without any side effects at all. It hydrates the skin where it touches and absorbs in quickly without leaving any tacky feeling. After applying the serum to my cleansed face, I’d give it 5 minutes to absorb in well before applying my night cream. Prior to using John Plunkett’s Face Lift Serum, I was really getting concerned about my forehead area because the wrinkles there were beginning to form noticeable furrows; even though I’m not in the habit of raising my eyebrows as some people do which causes this. Nightly use of this serum has flattened out those furrows such that the wrinkles there are now fine lines that even my Hubby has noticed this marked improvement. Apart from this I also notice that the deep creases that formed when smiling due to me having dimples, have lessened in depth too. I am extremely happy with this face serum because overall, my face looks plumper, younger and more toned with less of the deep wrinkles than I had before. I feel that this product had turned back time for me by quite a few years and I am delighted with the outcome. Though I realise that this product is pricey at around $50 for just 15ml, for such a good result I would be willing to buy it if I see it at Priceline or Chemist Warehouse on a half price sale.
