If the hell pain of migraines is something you suffer with regularly, you’ll know that there’s no way you can just “push through it.” This, btw, is the exact advice Khloe Kardashian was given by her family when she first experienced one as a teen.
“I’ve been suffering from migraines since about the sixth grade,” she revealed in an interview with TakeBackToday.com. “When I was a kid I didn’t have anyone I could relate to or talk to about this. They [her sisters] always thought it was an excuse for something.”
“Without them realising it, it would shame me from expressing if I was suffering.”
Despite the WHO labelling migraines as one of the 10 most disabling medical illnesses on earth, it wasn’t until Khloe’s dad came down with one during chemo that anyone close to them cottoned on to how bad the condition could be.
“I’m so sorry, I didn’t realise how debilitating these are,” Khloe remembers Robert telling her. “I felt like I’m not insane here and somebody knows what I’m experiencing.”
Over the years, the Kardashian Klan have learned how to help when the need arises. “They’ll help me get the things I need,” Khloe said. “But, I just need silence. Leave me alone during that time.”

Although frustratingly, since giving birth to her daughter, Khloe’s symptoms have only worsened. “Ever since I had True, my migraines really spiked,” Khloe said, admitting she gets “mum guilt” when she has to bow out of activities. In a recent ep of KUWTK she even described “throwing up blood” and “blindness” in one eye.
“Literally my whole head feels bruised because it’s been pounding for so long and it’s terrifying,” she says. “I’m supposed to go to Cleveland tomorrow to see Tristan, but the way I’m feeling right now, I don’t know if I can be on a flight like that.” Eeek!
These symptoms are pretty textbook when it comes to aura migraines. And while experts can’t be sure why some people get them over others, there are several known triggers including stress, dietary changes and differences in the weather.
Treatment-wise, Khloe’s pretty well tried it all to no avail. She did, however, see a difference using a product available in the US called Nurtec ODT (disclaimer: she’s a spokesperson for the company.) “Something that easy and accessible by my bed, it’s dissolvable and it works for me within 15 minutes. It was a game-changer,” she said.
Meanwhile, so many fans on Twitter have applauded her for bringing awareness to the condition and weighed in with recommended remedies.
“Botox in the jaw helps, you have to redo it every three months tho,” one person shared. “Peppermint oil helps a lot just to breathe and not focus on the excruciating pain,” added another.

What have you found that helps when you’re suffering from a migraine?
So sorry for Khloe Kardashian having debilitating Migraines but she is a fighter and achieved so much in her life and for her daughter.
OMG. Chronic pain is so awful. Khloe seems to achieve a great deal despite it. A bit of a coincidence that the only thing that helps is a product she is paid to promote. But that is her job.
I’ve had migraines before but I don’t get them often and they are the worst. I get so nauseous and dizzy to the point that I want to throw up
I thought I was getting bad headaches once but I needed help so ended up getting diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia instead – that lead to a choice of either brain surgery or staying on painkillers permanently so I chose the brain surgery!!! Glad that’s over – yep the brain surgery worked.
Never had even a plain headache. Do not know how it feels. Just know from friends: it is terrible.
My Mum suffers with migraines, lucky for me I don’t even get headaches, migraines must be terrible to live with.
My mum use to get them often, now they have gone totally
She is always giving great tips
I don’t get migraines but I do suffer with headaches if I don’t have osteopathy at least once a month.
For the most part, I know my triggers & I avoid them. I’ve got strategies for dealing with an attack, like blackout curtains & Migrastick (a mixture of peppermint & lavender essential oils) & prescription medication.
I understand just what shes talking about. I was told by the Doctor that they can be genetic. Both my parents suffered with migraines so i guess i was a sitting duck genetically. Thankfully I dont get them much anymore and I have no idea why they calmed down but mine would be so bad that the Doc would knock me out with pethadine. I would sleep for 12hours and wake with no pain but due to the drug I would be fuzzy headed for a couple of days. I loved the pethadine though.
I suffered migraines for an unknown reason a few years ago. It was for about 12 months. I had all sorts of tests done but nothing unusual was found. And then they went away. Thank goodness, because they were awful.
The last migraine I had was over 14 years ago so hopefully they’ve left me for good. Relief was gained through a dark room, medication and sleep.
Thankfully never a problem for me but I know some who suffer
Peppermint oil. Wow who would have thought
I’ve been using the Immortal Skin Peppermint & Lavender oil roll-on for years! It’s great for tension headaches. However when I have a migraine I need to sleep with an ice pack on my forehead & take medication, then I can function after a couple of hours. I’ve suffered migraines since I was a teenager, stress & tension definitely increases them, however sometimes I go months without a headache!
Peppermint oil and a dark room… Also, looking for foods that can trigger them and eliminating them from my diet…
Great to have peppermint oil, its calming too
I never suffered from this condition.
Migraines are awful. I get them when I’m due for my period. They usually last 3 to 4 days.
They are so painful and I have not tried peppermint oil, that’s very interesting.
Anagraine works wonders for me when I get one. I am very limited in what sort of medications I can take, so no strong painkillers, but these are a lifesaver for me.
I have had chronic Migraines for 10 years now so I am always excited to hear about ways to numb the pain.
I find headaches bad enough. I feel sorry for those who suffer migraines and I can imagine you would try anything to ease the pain.
I tend to only get headaches but I find essential oils on my pillow helps relieve a headache.
Migraines are horrible.
I used to get them once a week when I was in my teens.
hmmm the solution is a product she is paid to endorse =/
I’d be more inclined if she wasn’t paid for it considering she’s an influencer flogging anything left, right and centre.
I’ve had a migraine only a couple of times, and not for a long time, but they are so painful 🙁 I use to lose vision on one side and have to stay in bed, the pain was so bad 🙁 🙁
I used to get severe migraines when I was younger, but they were not as severe as the type that Khloe experiences.
It is good there are some comforting things you have found that work.
Yes that takes the gusto out of it that is for sure! Lost interest at that point.
When I had a migraine once I didn’t realise what it was! I thought it was my pregnancy playing up because I’d been teaching at work all day. Now I realise it was a migraine (yes I got blind in both eyes and couldn’t drive home after work). I had to wait until it was over and I could see better (not perfectly) and tried to slowly drive home that day. I didn’t get them again after I’d had the baby! I didn’t get them with my other pregnancies either.
I don’t know why this is even an article =/
