How To Hide Big Front Teeth (And Stop Feeling So Self-Conscious!)

It’s not world ending, but if it’s bothering you, it’s bothering us. So, rather than send yourself into a spin by refusing to show the world your pearly whites, let’s take advantage of the beauty tips that will help you feel like your best self. Just as we enlist a concealer to cover up our dark under-eyes or a brow pencil to fill in any sparse patches, there are simple and effective steps to follow in the ‘big front teeth’ department that will sky-rocket your confidence.

The best ways to distract from your big front teeth

Apply bold makeup

Ah, the old dazzle and deflect. Move the focus up your face and keep the excitement around your eyes. How do we suggest going about this? A bold shadow? Or perhaps a cat eye? If you’re really feeling fancy, may we suggest strips of false lashes to add some immediate Bambi-esque volume.

Try wearing a V-neck

In the same way that bold eye makeup draws the eyes upwards, a V-neck top will elongate your neck and décolletage. If showing too much skin isn’t really your thing, fear not; it doesn’t have to be a deep V. Just enough to show a tasteful bit of skin!

Focus on your ‘smize’

If it’s photos that really highlight your front tooth-insecurity, swap out a wide-toothed smile in the place of a tighter, closed-mouth smile, paired with the term coined by Tyra Banks on America’s Next Top Model. In other words, shoot the camera your fiercest ‘smize’. A.K.A making your smile more about your eyes and less about your mouth.

Consider Invisalign treatment

From Angelina Jolie to Tom Cruise, all the A-listers have turned to braces at one point or another. If your front teeth are accentuated by an uneven smile, consider aligning your teeth and straightening things out with a course of Invisalign trays.

Learn to love ‘em

Here’s the thing: typically our most triggering flaw is often the feature our family and friends love about us the most. In the words of Jon Bon-Jovi: “if you could see yourself the way that others do, you’d wish you were as beautiful as you.”

Do you have big front teeth? What beauty flaws have you tried to hide?

  1. My daughter was self-conscious of her big k9 teeth & would always smile with her mouth closed but as she has gotten older, she has embraced them & now has the most beautiful smile 🙂

  2. Unfortunately I don’t like my teeth either so I rarely smile much at all. Just look at Victoria Beckham she doesn’t smile much in photos but she has beautiful teeth as well.

  3. I don’t have big front teeth but I don’t particularly like my teeth or my smile however I try not to think about it too much and just get on looking happy and content.

  4. My Mum had big teeth with a wide gap. She used to say that the wide gap was meant to mean you were rich, turns out that wasn’t true at all as Mum worked hard all her life but was never rich.
