Clear + Brilliant Laser Treatment Review

Did your skin take a beating over the silly season leaving it in dire need of a pick me up? Or perhaps your social schedule is ramping back up again and you want an enviable glow? Book yourself in for the Clear + Brilliant laser treatment on your next lunch break. It takes 30 minutes, has very little downtime and bh’s Astrid knows first hand that it delivers results. Check out her review below…

Q. What treatment did you get and where?
“I got the Clear + Brilliant treatment at Clear Complexions Clinic in Mosman. “

Q. From start to finish, what did the treatment involve?
“First, I had a consultation with Susie Hoitink – owner and founder of Clear Complexions, which involved a one hour skin analysis that looked 2mm below the surface of my skin at the damage and condition of it. This helped determine what type of treatment I was to have, and subsequent treatments thereafter. We also chatted about my skin care regimen, and chatted about how we could improve it. Clear Complexions has a wide range of cosmedical skin care available, and one of the nurses went through a number of products that were suitable to my skin concerns.

As for the treatment, Clear + Brilliant is the sort of ‘inbetween’ treatment of microdermabrasion and Fraxel. It’s great for refreshing your skin and helping fight the signs of ageing. First, a topical numbing cream is applied to your face, then the laser is guided by a nurse across the surface of your face. This is done in sections, and each section has the laser guided over it for four layers. The whole process takes about 20 minutes, and that’s it!

Then, you’ll come back a week later for an Omniluxe facial which is a quick 20 minute facial under special LED lights to help speed up the healing process and to help stimulate collagen.”

Q. How did the treatment feel on your skin?
“By the second or third layer, I really started to feel the heat! I’ve never had laser treatment on my face before, so I really wasn’t sure what to expect. Honestly, it wasn’t the most comfortable experience, but it’s over fairly quickly!”

Q. How did your skin feel immediately after the treatment?
“My face was red and sensitive to touch, as if I had bad sunburn. I applied a balm to my face that night and by morning it was back to its normal colour.”

Q. How did your skin feel a couple of days after the treatment?
“In the coming days, my skin felt like sandpaper! Coarse and rough, my makeup didn’t sit too well and it wasn’t that pleasant to touch. The nurse told me that the healing process is different for everyone. After about a week after the Omniluxe treatment, my skin felt softer, smoother and looked radiant.”

Q. What were the results like?
“I think my complexion looked brighter – not in huge way, but enough for me to notice. I was involved in a wedding about two weeks after the treatment, which is when your skin is supposed to be looking its best, and I got a few comments from other guests about how plump and bright my skin looked.”

Q. Who would you recommend this treatment for?
“It’s ideal for anyone with pigmentation, uneven skin tone or dull skin. Or if you’re after a youthful boost with little downtime. It’s good if you want fairly immediate results and is a great option for refreshing and revitalising your skin before a big event.”

Q. Anything else worth noting?
“Only that your face is going to be sore after the treatment, so don’t plan on heading out that night! And you can’t go in the sun for a few days following the treatment either, so keep that in mind if you’re planning on attending an important event!”
