Signs of sensitive skin are never subtle – in fact, my face is so redness-prone and rosacea-plagued that the crimson cheeks I’m often sporting basically make it look as if I’ve been re-watching my most mortifying moments on a loop. But no, I’m not embarrassed, I’m just inflamed. One mistake, whether it be a drop of the wrong oil or 1.5 seconds in proximity of a heater, and my face is flared up with a frighteningly deep flush. Working in the beauty biz, it’s literally my job to trial a surplus of skincare products (champagne problems, I know), and whilst it’s wonderful to test out the latest and greatest formulas, sometimes I need to return to a few old faithfuls to calm my complexion when the day is done. Meet my sensitivity-soothing solution – goat’s milk. Yep, in addition to being irrevocably adorable, goats are also serious skin saviours. Goat’s milk is beyond amazing – essentially, it’s a superstar-status soothing ingredient packed with essential fatty acids to hit skin with a hefty dose of hydration. It also helps to enhance skin’s natural defence mechanism as it has a pH level that’s super similar to that of our own skin, meaning that it’s less irritating and more easily absorbed. As if that wasn’t enough, it’s also loaded with lactic acid, the gentle giant of the acid family that will help to softly slough away dead skin cells without triggering irritation (yep, it’s an acid safe for even the most sensitive of souls). The moral of the story? If sensitivity or dryness is really getting your goat, give goat’s milk skincare a go. Get ready to reap the rewards – all relief, zero redness.
I have tried goats milk soap which was nice and gentle on skin.
