To celebrate the end of summer, we gathered the best beauty products to help you transition into the colder months. While we’re more than happy to say good-bye to humidity and the sweat-induced temperatures, we’re sad the long days of sunshine are soon to be behind us.
To make everything better, the beautyheaven team reviewed these gorgeous products. From the W Cosmetics SNP Soothing Moisture Mask that left Kristy’s skin glow to the Maybelline New York SuperStay Matte Ink that Sophie tested to the tanning foam Kate trialled and the perfume Ellie reviewed.
W Cosmetics SNP Soothing Moisture Mask
“Masking is an important part of my weekly routine. Even though I have a thorough daily skin care, if I don’t mask my skin looks tired and dull. So I was pretty pleased to be trialling the W Cosmetics SNP Soothing Moisture Mask. It’s a sheet mask designed to hydrate, soothe sensitivity, calm irritation, boost moisture and promote softness, which is made to happen with ingredients lavender extract, centella Asiatic extract, honey and rosa cania fruit extract. I applied the mask after I cleansed my face. It oozing with ingredients so you need to make sure you press the mask into your skin so it stays in place. I put my feet up and left it on for the recommended 10 minutes. Afterward, my skin was seriously glowy. I would recommend this mask to anyone who has skin that needs soothing and hydrating.”
Maybelline New York SuperStay Matte Ink
“I was lucky enough to have the Maybelline New York SuperStay Matte Ink land on my desk recently, and let me just tell you – I am impressed! First of all, the shade ‘Lover’ is absolutely gorgeous. The pinky mauve looks great on my fair complexion, but I honestly think it would suit any skin tone. The colour payoff is insane and I love the soft, matte finish. It’s really long-lasting and I didn’t have to touch up once when I was wearing it. I found it slightly drying on my lips, but I found that dabbing a touch of lip balm on top of the liquid lipstick helps to keep my lips feeling comfortable for longer. I would recommend this liquid lipstick to anyone looking for a long-lasting lip colour.”
Bondi Sands 1 Hour Express Self Tanning Foam
“When Bondi Sands announced that they were releasing a rapid tan, I was so excited! Being the resident tanning junkie in the beautyheaven office, there’s not many tans that I haven’t tried – and Bondi Sands have never disappointed me! So as soon as I got my hands on one of the Bondi Sands 1 Hour Express Self Tanning Foams, I immediately ran home and slathered it on. It comes out like whipped cream rather than the regular Bondi Sands tanning mousse, so you do have to be careful that you don’t push out too much – but it also means that a little goes a long way, which is always great value for money. It spreads really easily and smoothly over the skin and the guide colour shows exactly where you’re applying it. Bondi Sands advise to leave the tan on to develop for 30 minutes for a light tan, 1 hour for a medium to dark tan and 2 hours plus for the darkest tan. I personally love a deep, dark tan so I left it to develop for just over 2 hours. The end result was a lovely golden tan with zero streaks and not even a hint of orange. I loved how quickly it developed and that I didn’t have to sleep in the product to get a lovely bronze effect. Definitely, one for those who are new to tanning, as it’s pretty darn foolproof – you don’t have to worry about stained sheets, the colour won’t go too dark or streaky and you can control the developing time to suit your preferences. Highly recommend!”
Tory Burch Love Relentlessly We Review
“Tory Burch Love Relentlessly is a pink perfume housed in a luxe-looking, gold and glass bottle. The eau de parfum is inspired by the most romantic couple Tory Burch has ever known: her parents. And you can feel that romance! At first spritz I liked the fragrance but thought it wouldn’t be my type of scent. As the day wore on though, I found I started to love it more and more. All the different layers of notes that surfaced actually caught me by surprise. (Proof you should never judge a perfume too early!) The scent has a little bit of everything. Warm and earthy notes of amber, sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver conjure up feelings of love. Then you get a fresh bite of juicy notes like pink grapefruit, Sicilian lemon, raspberry and lychee. Florals like rose, Jasmine sambac and orris add a feminine flourish, while a hint of pink pepper makes it sexy. As a whole, the scent reminds me of someone wealthy and accomplished: a woman who has picked out everything in her life – from loving partner to eau de parfum – perfectly. I think anyone who likes a long-lasting perfume that makes them feel confident will adore this scent. It definitely won me over!”
