Unbalanced beauty

Unbalanced beauty

Bridget Jones once said, “it is a truth universally acknowledged that when one part of your life starts going okay, another falls spectacularly to pieces,” and boy, did she have it right.

For me, it’s more like, ‘when one beauty feature is rocking, another is hitting rock bottom’.

For example, just last week my hair was so close to perfection (if I do say so myself!). It was healthy, bouncing with volume, had tolerable split ends, and my fringe was finally sitting right.

But then of course, at the exact same time, I had massive breakouts on my chin. For days I had to deal with big, red blotches (it took all the strength I had not to squeeze each and every one of those suckers). The only thing that got me through those tough times was my Rimmel London Hide the Blemish Cover Stick.

And now? Well the pimples are gone and I think I’ve finally mastered the art of streak-free, perfectly bronzed fake tanning (Thank you Le Tan SPF 15 Daily Glow).

But of course, as luck would have it, my nails have taken a turn for the worse. They’re beyond brittle, so they’re flaking, chipping and splitting all over the place. I can’t even paint them to try and cover it up, because the polish just chips off.

I’ve started using Sally Hansen Diamond Strength as it contains micro-diamond crystals in its formula which, once on the nail, helps prevent splits, breaks, cracks and peeling. It takes about five to seven days for the formula to work, so I’ve got my (horribly nailed) fingers crossed!
