Trinny Woodall has been dishing out advice for years now, and while it might’ve branched from fashion to beauty, we’re still happily obliging in all she has to say. So, when she first launched Trinny London beauty products we were overjoyed to hop on the train to skin that looks anything like hers.

With an ethos of creating a beauty routine that works to give your skin everything it needs, we were shocked to find out that up until now, Trinny London didn’t have an eye cream. Yep, it’s huge news.

But Trinny was committed to not bringing out an eye cream until she was confident in the results it would give. Well, the day has finally come. Trinny London has launched an eye cream, and we got to chat with the beauty herself to find out more about it, and of course ask a few extra beauty questions!

Trinny London Beauty Interview

This is your first ever eye product! What made you finally branch out?

trinny london take back time

“Secretly I wanted to do one”, Trinny shareds. That was the driving force behind finding the perfect ingredient for her newest launch, Trinny London Take Back Time ($122 at Trinny London). It took stumbling across “discover[ing] some longevity research into mini-proteins and their effect[s] on slowing down the ageing process” to convince Trinny it was time to branch out and start formulating.

Is there a standout ingredient in this cream that you swear by?

For Trinny, it wasn’t just about dealing with one issue (which is challenging enough). She wanted to be able to cover a range and ensure that the product actually deals with the conflicting issues. “We want to use an ingredient that’s going to work” she explained, and so they found mini proteins.

Because of their size, mini proteins are able to “penetrate the skin and relax the muscle and really help to slow the development of lines and also help in the reduction of existing lines”. But that’s not the only star of this show: proderma hyaluronic acid, hexapectides and ashwagandha work alongside the mini proteins to “manage to take four different issues”.

But it wasn’t easy; it took “57 iterations” before they were happy with this incredible finished product. And let’s just say, we’re stoked they got there. Because who doesn’t want a cream that addresses all your eye concerns?

Do you have any Trinny London products you can’t live without?

trinny woodall fave products

We know it’s such a hard question to answer, but we just had to know. Turns out, much like the rest of us, she can’t choose a favourite. But she has a key three things she would take if she were stuck on a desert island.

“An SPF 50, something to not make my skin feel dry, and something to give me a bit of glamour”, she confirmed. The trio to answer those categories? The yet-to-launch in AustraliaSee The Light‘, Trinny London Plump Up ($130 at Trinny London) and the Trinny London Sheer Shimmer ($45 at Trinny London) for a wash of lip to cheek to eye sheen.

Do you have any budget-friendly beauty buys you swear by?

Well good news and bad news. Trinny has a trio of budget-approved hair care brands she just can’t get enough of. Bad news, none of her loves are readily available in Australia. But, if you’re heading overseas, her faves are: John Frieda Frizz Ease Dream Curls Cream Oil, Wella Root activator and Schwarzkopf Night Elixir.

Are there any beauty tips you need people to know?

Trinny has definitely dished out her makeup tips before, but there’s one thing she really wants people to know. You’ve really got to “make the time for a beauty routine”. And because Trinny is a total realist, she suggests really “look[ing] at our skin” to see what it needs, not just try and “look for eternal youth”.

You’ve just got to commit to the routine and you’ll be seeing the skin-energising results. “No excuses”, okay?
