In good news for faces everywhere, Trinny London has officially entered the world of skin care. And better yet, beautyheaven was given a sneak peek of the products to review.
The brand has already provided us with some stellar skin care-makeup hybrids like the BFF Destress Tinted Serum, but this time the products are solely focused on skin.
Launching with the first step of any good routine, founder Trinny Woodall has blessed us with not one but two cleansers: Be Your Best (an enzyme balm cleanser for $60) and Better Off (an AHA/PHA gel cleanser for $50).
The products were actually hinted at when Trinny shared the details of her skin care routine late last year. And now they’re available in Australia via the Trinny London website, alongside sustainable refill options and muslin cloths.
Keen to know more? Here’s what bh’s Sam thought about the products…
Trinny London skin care review
Cleansing products don’t always scream excitement. But boy, does the new Trinny London skin care flip that on its head.
Both cleansers are packaged in sizeable bright yellow canisters that twist to reveal a pump dispenser. And if you’re all about convenience like me, you’ll know the joy of a pump dispenser.
They’re also designed to be refillable (the refill product slots inside the yellow canister) saving you $10-$12 each time you stock up. I personally LOVE this. Not only does it reduce the packaging but you’re not paying for it each time either.
Trinny London Be Your Best Cleansing Balm
Let’s start with the balm cleanser because if you’re double cleansing it’s the first cab off the rank. And what a way to start.
I know I already mentioned the pump dispenser, but it’s really not something you see with balm cleansers. Traditionally you’d be scooping it out of a tub, so this feature is a game-changer for me.
The balm is clear in colour and has a spreadable but not too oily texture. The smell is clean, fresh, and calming. It’s spa-like but not in a heavy or overwhelming essential oil way. I think most people would find it very pleasant, soothing, and refreshing.
As I massaged it over my face, my makeup and waterproof mascara melted away with ease. It’s not overly greasy and doesn’t leave a tacky feeling on the skin after use as I’ve experienced with other balm cleansers. It just leaves it feeling clean but nourished and hydrated. I used the accompanying muslin cloth to remove it.
Two pumps is the recommended amount and I found it sufficient for the whole face, neck and décolletage. If you were keen to make the product last longer, you probably could get away with one or one and a half pumps.
As far as cleansing balms go, I do think it’s up there with some of the best. I usually find myself not reaching for balms as much because of the hassle of use, but this one makes it easy.
Trinny London Better Off Cleansing Gel
The gel cleanser is cloudier, runnier, and smells a little zestier than the balm. When first pumped out it seems a little tacky, but when applied to damp skin it becomes spreadable with a slightly milky texture.
Trinny recommended to really work and massage this one into the skin, and I did find the ritual quite satisfying. It contains AHAs (lactic acid and malic acid) and PHA (lactobionic acid), the latter of which I hadn’t really used much before.
Because my skin is quite used to AHAs, however, I didn’t experience much of a tingling sensation. Turns out PHA is known for this and is really good at exfoliating while leaving the skin hydrated.
I still found the need to follow with a serum and moisturiser, but my skin didn’t immediately feel dry or tight post-cleanse. Gosh, it did feel smooth though.
Final verdict
Sometimes when I double cleanse it does feel like it’s too much, but my face didn’t feel ‘stripped’ when using the Trinny London skin care.
I love how the balm removed makeup with ease and the I definitely noticed a glow after the gel thanks to the gentle exfoliation.
I think most skin types would get along with both, and it would only be those who experience sensitivity who may need to proceed with caution.
The balm is recommended for normal to dry skin while the gel is recommended for oily to dry. So as someone with combination skin, I found the duo to be balancing perfection and am looking forward to more long-term results.

Have you tried any Trinny London products? Do you like the sound of these cleansers?
Definitely interested to giving this a go!
I don’t even know who she is
google Trinny and Susannah. They used to have a personal makeover show on TV.
Yes they sound interesting but I had to Google her and I doubt that I will pursue her products
Would LOVE to try this!
I want the balm! That packaging, makes me happy and want to clean my face many times per day xD
yes nice and happy and easy to find on the vanity
I haven’t tried these but they do sound worth while and I like products with a pump
Love Trinny and her energy and passion. And how much effort she does put in designing her products.
I wasn’t sure if this was a brand or person at first. Never heard of her.
I still haven’t tried any Trinny London products although they’ve been on my radar for years so I’d definitely love to try the cleanser.
I love Trinny!! That packaging’s gorgeous, as well as enviro-friendly, and I’ll definitely be getting some once my current cleanser runs out.
I didn’t think they were available in Oz yet.
Sounds very amazing so glad that Trinny of London Skin Cleanser works so very well, Thank You BH for your Article. 😊
Loving the reusable packaging! The cleansing balm also looks really nice.
I’m not a fan of pump products as I can’t use the product to the last drop
These look and sound like something that would suit my skin.
This is the first time I hear about that brand.
Not really a fan of the person, however I love the packaging – it’s so bright and happy!
Good review. It seems a little expensive though.
I remember watching What Not To Wear years ago so I recognised her. I like the packaging of her products and wouldn’t mind trying them.
New to me but they look good.
No i have seen ads on tv and the products look great
I have no idea who she is but I love that you can refill the bottles and love the sound of this review. Can’t wait to try these products!
Being refillable is such a cool idea. I love the sound of the cleanser
Interesting… Some great concepts, but not sure it’s worth the price tag….
Haven’t tried her products but loved her on that TV show, which I can’t remember the name of. Always used to watch it.
I love balm cleansers, it might be worth a try.
This sound interesting. Love to try.
I like the refill idea, though I’m really not sure the world needs another skincare brand.
Love to see more manufacturers doing refillable packaging.
Never tried it – I like Trinny’s styling advice that I’ve seen her give on the tele
I could probably use the balm cleanser (although the fragrance part might be a bit tricky since I can react to scent sometimes), but the gel cleanser I’d have to pass on since I can be funny with AHA’s from time to time (and I already use a liquid exfoliator that contains lactic acid, so don’t need to over-do it).
Would love to try these products
I love the packaging!
I like the sound of AHAs in a cleanser but I’m not sure if I’d go to the effort of buying her products if they’re only available from overseas.
I want to try this as well!
I rarely spend so much on cleansers. I like the idea of a refillable canister – providing the canisters are recyclable.
Apparently her makeup is amazing too. I need to get some !
I get a bit annoyed with pump products, I can never get the last bit out :S
