Tilda Swinton Is The New Face Of Sulwhasoo

It’s official: Tilda Swinton is the newest global ambassador for South Korean beauty brand, Sulwhasoo. This exciting announcement comes hot off the heels of the K-beauty brand’s intentions to refresh its look, citing “ultimate beauty based on heritage and artistry” as the inspiration behind the shake-up.

And who better to front such a campaign than the timeless Tilda Swinton? After all, the woman has glass skin.

According to the brand, Tilda was selected for her “unique and unrivaled aura” and her “special appreciation for Korean pop culture.” As for Tilda? Well, she’s been a long-standing fan of the brand. Can you blame her?

What did Tilda Swinton have to say about the collaboration?

Speaking about Sulwhasoo’s latest mission, Tilda said, “I think spirit and heritage are really beyond valuable. There’s really a reason to focus on things that don’t change because they never will.”

As with all K-beauty, Sulwhasoo seeks to gently nourish and strengthen the skin above all else.

All of which has been made possible thanks to the brand’s hero ingredient: ginseng, a staple in the range for the past 91 years. Yes, that’s right, Sulwhasoo has been around for that long. Consider us impressed.

The natural root (common to Korea and China) has been touted for its potent anti-ageing properties. A reduction in the appearance of fine lines, a stronger skin barrier and reduced inflammation are some of the most common skin concerns that ginseng works to relieve. Not bad at all.

So, as the brand seeks to undergo a slight refresh as it nears its 100th birthday, the presence of ginseng will still remain a constant. Phew.
