Shopping for skin care products ain’t easy. Because really, how can you actually know how your skin is going to feel/look/react/improve to the products unless you buy them?
So, if you’re in the market for new skin care products, keep these tips in mind and hopefully you’ll score some skin care buys that are just perfect for you!
DO… ASK FOR HELP
For skin care advice, who better to ask than a trained professional? It’s all well and good to pick the products you think you need yourself, but it’s an even better idea to take advantage of sales assistants’ tips and advice. Go past a few different counters, grab some samples and discuss your skin care concerns, and they’ll be able to make suitable suggestions. Who knows, they might even point you in the direction of your new Holy Grail skin care buy!
DON’T… DIP YOUR FINGERS INTO TUBS/JARS
Unless you want to increase your chances of contracting some sort of infection, keep your mitts out of skin care jars and tubs. If you’re shopping in a department store, they should be able to offer you a cotton tip or disposable spatula. You could always pop some supplies in your handbag too, just in case!
DO… LOOK FOR PRACTICAL PACKAGING
Don’t be tempted to purchase the prettiest product just because it’ll look damn fine on your vanity. You’re better off choosing products that contain ingredients that’ll improve the condition of your skin. And hey, if the jar happens to look beautiful, then it’s a win-win!
DON’T… APPLY THE PRODUCT DIRECTLY TO YOUR FACE
Before you start using any skin care products, do a patch test first to see if you have any reactions or sensitivity. So, when you’re in store, only apply the product to the back of your hand. This will help to give you an idea of how the product feels on your skin as well as its fragrance, while avoiding any potential nasty reactions.
