The Logies: your red-carpet commentary

Stone the flamin’ crows! Thank goodness resident Aussie television icon finally received his comeuppance. Yep, after 20 long years, Ray Meargh (aka Home and Away’s Alf Stewart), has finally taken home the gold Logie – and we couldn’t be more proud.

Now, as Meargh won’t be appearing on any ‘best in beauty’ lists (although he was devilishly handsome last night), we’ll leave him to enjoy his win, while we dive into the goods…

There were definitely a few big point scorers in the fashion and beauty stakes, particularly the ones I like to call the ‘beauties in black’ –  otherwise known as Megan Gale and Erin McNaught. Gale showcased her long, flowing ebony locks over her right shoulder with a low-scooping black gown, while McNaught rocked an oversized frill and an understated top knot that was so smack-bang-on-the-mark it made me smile. Both exhibited flawless-looking complexions, which we can only guess is thanks to the staying power of a longwear, yet lightweight foundation such as Revlon ColorStay Mineral Foundation.

Esther Anderson (Home and Away), and Margot Robbie (Neighbours) also deserve a shout out. Anderson channelled her inner Grecian goddess with a draped one-shouldered peachy gown that matched her nude lips and complimented her dark ponytail perfectly.
Robbie looked effortlessly chic in a floor-length white gown with eye-popping silver detail on her left shoulder (and I’d like to give kudos to her for owning the long gown after going a wee bit too short at last year’s Logies).

But of course, with the devastatingly stunning comes the ‘what on earth were they thinking?!’ Nat Bass – we know you are oh-so cute and pregnant right now, so we’re going to put your bride-of-Frankenstein hair down to a bad case of baby brain. But Ruby Rose… you’ve got some explaining to do about that grey 1940’s style up-do girl!

Which look was your favourite at the Logies?
