When our Aussie sportsmen are off the field, they always scrub up pretty well. Even the shaggier among them don’t look too shabby in a suit – and the Allan Border Medal awards were certainly no exception.
However, it was the guys’ leading ladies that really stole the show. With most of them donning a floor length gown, there was definitely a hint of 50’s glamour in the air. A prime example? Lee Furlong – wife of Shane Watson, who on Monday night picked up his second Allan Border Medal to date.
Furlong looked captivating in a floor sweeping white, ethereal designed, one-shoulder gown. She chose a deep red/plum lipstick and soft pinned-back waves to complete her old-Hollywood look.
Her make-up was kept fresh and youthful and she absolutely glowed as she shimmied down the red carpet with hubby on her arm. (Hang on a minute, perhaps that glow isn’t down to a fabulous illuminator – we’re definitely on bump watch with this one!)
What do you think of Furlong’s old-Hollywood look?
NIVEA Trivia: When was the first ever NIVEA product released onto the market, and what was it?
Yesterday’s answer? Inspired by the snow-white colour of the brand’s iconic Crème, the name ‘NIVEA’ was derived from the Latin words niveus/nivea/niveum, which mean snow.
