12 weirdest and wackiest celebrity beauty tips

Gwyneth Paltrow

Here’s a wellness treatment that we’re confident you’ve never heard of and one we’d put money on that you’ve never tried (and likely never will). During an appearance on the podcast The Art of Being Well, Gwyneth revealed the weirdest wellness treatment she’s ever tried: “I have used ozone therapy, rectally” she answered.

“It’s pretty weird. It’s pretty weird, yeah. But it’s been very helpful,” she insisted.

Just as the name sounds, this treatment describes the process of inserting ozone via the rectum. The benefits include a reduction in pain and inflammation, increased energy, improved circulation and a stimulated immune system, among others.

Blake Lively

There’s no doubt Blake’s long blonde locks are ridiculously good, so when she reveals a hair hack, we listen. “My mom taught me this really great beauty tip. She used to put oil or mayonnaise on the bottom half of her hair before she would shower,” Lively said. “That way, when she would shampoo, the soap wouldn’t strip the bottom of the hair and dry it out, making it brittle,” Blake revealed. Alrighty then.

Jennifer Aniston

Ever wondered how Jen gets her mane so gloriously glossy? Well, turns out she uses the same shampoo as, um, horses. Yep, she relies on The Original Shampoo by Mane ‘n Tail, first designed to keep horses’ manes full, strong and healthy. Whatever works.

Suki Waterhouse

Forget shampoo; Suki is more into soft drink when it comes to shower time. “I rinse my hair with Coca-Cola sometimes,” she said. “I don’t like my hair when it’s washed—it’s fine and limp—but Coca-Cola makes it tousled, like I’ve gone through the Amazon or something.” Celebrity beauty tips can be so creative!

Nicole Kidman

She may be blonde now, but the once vibrant redhead kept her locks shiny and fresh by pouring a cup of cranberry juice over her hair after shampooing. Apparently it helps to enhance colour and seal the cuticle. Well, that’s one way to colour hair!

Beyoncé

Bey’s brows (like everything else about her) are next-level amazing. But we’ll bet you didn’t guess glue was the product behind them. Her makeup artist Sir John revealed the hot tip, divulging that Bey has even adopted it herself. “My [favourite] beauty hack is to use Elmer’s Glue Stick as the ultimate brow gel in the heat,” he said. “It doesn’t clog your pores, and it washes off easily.”

Halle Berry

If Halle’s handing out body tips, we’ll take them. The actress adds ground coffee to her body wash in the hope that the caffeine and mild exfoliation will help to increase blood flow and banish cellulite.

Kate Hudson

Ever wondered how Kate Hudson gets her skin to look so radiant? The actress actually likes to dunk her face in an ice bath to revive her glow. Brrrrr!

Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett uses apple cider vinegar to cleanse her face; and her glowing skin is a ringing endorsement. “I found that apple cider vinegar is really effective. If you have breakouts it can be really healing,” she reveals.

Eva Longoria

Want baby soft skin like the Desperate Housewives star? Eva is a big fan of skin creams containing placenta, which is thought to boost collagen production and moisture levels. Celebrity beauty at its wildest, huh?

Mariah Carey

Jealous of the stunning singer’s plump lips? Her trick is adding a few drops of peppermint oil to lip-gloss, which increases blood flow and causes the lips to swell.

Demi Moore

Want to look as good as Demi Moore? Better pop on some leeches. The actress admitted in 2008 to undertaking ‘leech therapy’ to detoxify her blood and optimize her health.

Have you tried any of these beauty tricks? What is the strangest beauty tip you’ve ever come across?

  1. Coke and cranberry juice would be too sticky, Mane n Tail is too harsh for my scalp to handle, I think a loofah would damage my hair. Leeches gross me out. Apple cider vinegar would irritate my sensitive dry skin. My eyebrows dont't need a glue stick. But everything else I am familiar with and have tried and use in some form or another.
