Solved: a very common skin care problem

When you’ve got oily, pimple-prone skin you reach for acne-targeted products. And when you’ve got dry, somewhat sensitive skin, gentle products are what you use. But what are the go-to products for combination skin? Well, that’s a tough question, really.

Combination skin usually consists of an overly oily t-zone and dry areas around the temples and cheeks. This makes it rather tricky to look after, as you’re always fighting to maintain to perfect balance between oil control and hydration. I mean, you can’t use products that strip all your natural oils or you’ll be left with flaky skin, but you need something that’s got a little bit of guts to it so you’re not stuck with clogged-up pores either.

I’m always sporting an oily t-zone mixed with dry areas, beauties, and I’ve recently discovered this brilliant little gem: Bioré Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser. Created using a technology that uses dirt-seeking molecules to target (and remove!) impurities in your skin, it never leaves your skin feeling stripped bare of all its natural oils, or over oily either. Better yet, because this cleanser only latches on to the bad stuff, you don’t have to be too oily to benefit from its pore-clearing abilities. Win!

So, if you’re the owner of combination skin or are just finding your t-zone a little too oily for your liking, you know what product to pop on your shopping list, stat.

Not sure if you’ve got combination skin? The easiest way to tell is to cleanse your face without applying any facial products afterwards, wait 10 minutes and then gently blot your nose with a tissue. If there’s any oily residue on the tissue, it’s highly likely you’re one of many women with combination skin. If you smile and feel like the skin around your cheeks is a little tight, too, you’ve definitely got combination skin.

Do you suffer from combination skin? If so, what products do you use to hit combat the imbalance or oiliness and dryness? What do you all think of the new Bioré packaging?
