Okay, so you caught us. We might not actually be the world’s biggest tennis fanatics but we know fantastic skin when we see it. And Serena Williams’ glowing skin has caught our attention.
So much so, that even long after she’s hit her final serve and hung up her (world-ranked) racket we still think about her seriously stunning skin. It’s pretty obvious to us that there’s absolutely no faulting Serena when it comes to her skin care routine.
And we were lucky to finally find out what products give the star such flawlessly glowing skin. And it’s all thanks to a recent video with Vogue, where she walked us through her skin care routine and even gave us a little insight into her newest venture WYN Beauty (which we hope we’ll see land on Aussie shores soon).
In the mean time, let’s check out Serena Williams’ skin care routine…
Serena Williams Skin Care Routine
Walking us through her everyday skin care routine, Serena was positively glowing. And while we can’t be sure exactly what gave her the glow, we’re sure it was a mix of her routine and a few left over post-partum hormones. Having not long given birth to her second daughter, Serena mentioned one of her pregnancy symptoms is a change in skin pigmentation, which leads her to choose specific products that cater well to her skin tone.
To Start
Opening up the video and starting off her skin care routine, Serena had on some hydrating eye masks, blaming her mum (in jest) for her dry under-eyes. However, she wasn’t forthcoming with the hydrating pick. We’ll have to keep our eyes out for the next time we see her with eye masks on to keep you in the loop.
Thankfully she shared exactly her next, and true first step. Although it was rather hard to miss. Serena opts for an LED mask session to help ‘soothe and calm’ her skin. Her mask of choice is the CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Face Mask ($585 at Current Body).
Cleanser
Because she’s been a world-renowned tennis star since her teens, Serena grew up on the big screen and became very aware of her skin. And like any teen, experiencing pimples was a major milestone in her skin care journey, with the star saying that she wanted her skin to be “the best at the time that she could allow it to be”.
So, for her current cleansing pick she opts for the Dr. Barbara Sturm Darker Skin Tones Foam Cleanser ($53.96 at Amazon Australia). The hydrating hyaluronic acid-infused pick ensures her skin barrier (and pH levels) remain balanced, while also aiding in reducing the appearance of any hyperpigmentation issues.
Serums
Because of her hyperpigmentation concerns, Serena applies two-to-three drops of the EADEM Milk Marvel Dark Spot Serum ($68 at Amazon Australia) across her face and neck. She also makes a point to take the serum oh-so-gently under her eyes because “that’s a really important area”.
So important, in fact, that she applies a second serum there. The La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermallergo Eye Contour Cream ($40.95 at Priceline) to be specific. While she encircles her eye area, she shared some beauty wisdom her mum passed down to her (and she’s passing on to her daughters). The takeaway? “Always go up on your face”. Whenever you’re applying products or washing your face, be sure to do so in an upwards motion. We can get behind that mumma Williams.
Moisturiser
The last step in her skin care routine? Moisturiser. And Serena knows it’s arguably one of the most important steps in everyone’s skin care routine. So, she picks up her BEAUTYSTAT Peptide Wrinkle Relaxing Moisturizer ($107.52 at beautylish) and incorporates a little facial massage into the routine (helping keep any inflammation at bay), and more importantly taking “time to just do the simple things”. A poignant reminder for us all to slow down and enjoy the routine.
And that’s it! See, what’d we say? It’s a super simplistic routine but it’s clearly working wonders for Serena’s skin. We might just need to invest in some of these picks…

Do you follow any of Serena’s steps? Will you incorporate her application technique into your own routine?
It sounds like a good routine to me.
She uses some great products. I’d love to try the LED light mask but it’s so pricey!
LED masks really do help to calm down skin. Pretty much what I use it for.
I use the CurrentBody Skin LED Eye Mask, and I also apply skincare products in an upwards and out motion.
I must get back into using my LED mask
I would find this very time consuming. I think it would be lovely to use though
She has lovely skin.
Yes stunning
Agreed she does have lovely skin.
I haven’t even heard of these brands before
I bet her general good health helps too.
Interesting product list
I would love an LED mask –
I haven’t tried LED mask yet.
