When we think of Scarlett Johansson we think of the undeniably gorgeous star that frequents our screens. But, it turns out (and she’s been totally open about it), Scarlett deals with blemish-prone skin. Yep, it shocked us too. But when we realised that her problematic skin was the reason she launched her own skin care brand, everything made total sense.
But seeing as her skin these days is flawless, we’ve been left wonder what her exact skin care routine is. And turns out (of course), it’s powered by her brand The Outset. Although, in our eyes, there’s something about a celeb who genuinely backs and has a whole routine based on the products they put out.
But back to needing to know the exact deets. We found out that Scarlett recently spoke with The Zoe Report, which is where we found out her entire morning and even skin care routine…
Scarlett Johansson Skin Care Routine
Morning Skin Care
Every morning, Scarlett starts by (checks notes), yep, she’s just like us, looking at her phone. But after the morning scroll, she makes the time to set her skin up for the day.
Much like the range itself, Scarlett likes to keep her routine simple. She cleanses her skin with The Outset The Cleanser Gentle Micellar Antioxidant Cleanser ($49 at The Outset). Designed to not leave your skin feeling tight, the antioxidant-rich cleanser is the perfect way to start the day. Next up, she follows with her “favourite product”. The Outset The Prep Serum Firming Vegan Collagen Prep Serum ($71 at The Outset), followed by the hydrating Nourishing Squalane Daily Moisturizer ($68 at The Outset).
And is any routine complete without just a little eye boost? We think not! And thankfully, we’ve got Scar Jo on our side, because before heading off to do the rest of her beauty routine, she applies the Smoothing Vitamin C Eye + Expression Lines Cream ($65 at The Outset). Along with giving her lashes a little nourishment (thanks to a heads up from a sales lady) with the DIOR Diorshow Maximizer 4D ($63 at Adore Beauty).
See, pretty simple! And the simple-yet-effective vibes keep on rolling with her evening routine too…
Evening Skin Care
Understandably, Scarlett starts off her evening routine by removing all her makeup. Although, when she’s not shooting, the star doesn’t actually wear much makeup, so not a lot of scrubbing is involved. She loves how the micellar technology in The Cleanser Gentle Micellar Antioxidant Cleanser ($49 at The Outset) work to lift all the build up out.
She then follows it up with a product that she uses “morning, at night, and sometimes, in the middle of the day”. She’s just “obsessed” with The Outset The Prep Serum Firming Vegan Collagen Prep Serum ($71 at The Outset), because it “helps your skin to receive the moisture from whatever creams you’re using afterwards”.
Talking of creams, she likes to use the rich Restorative Niacinamide Night Cream ($83 at The Outset), and occasionally she’ll put a few drops of The Boosting Oil Ultralight Moisture-Boosting Oil ($68 at The Outset) into it.
Sometimes, she likes the skin cycle between the two, “switch[ing] back and forth between those two”. And then she’s ready to hit the hay and wake up glowing and gorgeous.

Do you have one skin care brand that you LOVE? Would you try Scarlett Johansson’s skin care range?
She obviously loves The Outset, I can’t imagine using every skincare product from the same brand.
I must admit that not one of skincare products are the same brand. Love trying different brands and new brands.
Yes I agree Normap
Yes, because it’s her brand
First time I hear about this brand, there are so many to choose from.
I haven’t heard of that brand before.
New one to me too.
I use a lot of Sukin, but I use products from multiple brands.
Me too, I love Sukin but I use lots of other brands as well
This seems affordable.
Yes I could work with this range
I have not heard of this brand, but using all the products from the one brand will produce better resuts
I would love to try these
I mix up my brands and affordability
Interesting that she sticks to the same brand of products
I haven’t heard of The Outset. I sometimes use three or four products from one brand but not very often.
A celebrity using her own celebrity brand. The predictable equation.
Seriously!
I love The Ordinary and Sukin
ScarJo is gorgeous.
Is she an ambassador for the Outset now?
She uses a few products seems like a lot for me
I remain unconvinced that celebrity brands really are anything special.
