I’ve tried a few Proactiv products in the past and been surprised by how impressed I am by them every time (I’m looking at you Proactiv Green Tea Moisturiser and Proactiv 3 Step System). And this Proactiv+ Skin Purifying Mask was no different. I’ve been trialling it for the last couple of months and am a HUGE fan.

The Proactiv+ Skin Purifying Mask is a weekly cleansing mask with 6 per cent sulphur to clear acne, blemishes and breakouts – and prevent them from coming back (just what the doctor ordered if you ask me!). It also works to shrink the appearance of pores and calm irritated skin. Plus, it’s packed with antioxidant vitamins to hydrate, nourish, smooth and condition the skin. The mask is also non-comedogenic, dermatologist tested and suitable for all skin types.
When I squeezed the mask out of the tube, I was surprised that the consistency was quite light. It’s white with some little green dots and smells very clean. You apply a layer onto your face and only have to go about your business for ten minutes before you take it off which is delightful – any longer than ten minutes and I start to get antsy. But my favourite part? It doesn’t get hard or tight so you avoid that claustrophobic, can’t-move-your-face feeling. It’s easy to wash off with warm water and a hand towel and immediately afterwards my skin feels refreshed and like it can breathe for the first time all week.
I’m also surprised by how soft my skin feels after every time I use this mask. But better than that, I’ve had a few angry red spots rearing their heads lately and this mask always manages to calm them down and make them start to fade. (Plus, you can dab it onto individual pimples and use it as an overnight spot treatment, too!).
I’d been desperately looking for a new weekly deep-cleansing product to really pull out all of the impurities lurking under the surface of my skin and this is it!
