The unexpected place Phoebe Burgess applies her serum

Bare-faced and beautiful, Phoebe Burgess took to her Instagram Stories recently to share a glimpse into her nighttime skin care routine.

And unlike most of the high-end fashion brands we often see the mum-of-two rocking, we were thrilled to find this post featured an affordable, supermarket steal. The product in question? The potent anti-ageing serum from L’Oreal: the Revitalift Pure Retinol Night Serum.

Retinol, otherwise known as vitamin A, is widely regarded for its powerful properties in banishing wrinkles and fine lines, plus fighting acne and congestion. And without a blemish or wrinkle in sight on Phoebe, it comes as no surprise that she is an avid user of this active overnight serum.

Standing in her bathroom, Phoebe carefully dabbed the retinol onto her forehead, cheeks and across her nose, as she shared, “I like to pat the serum on my face and massage it down to my neck and décolletage”.

Phoebe advised her Instagram followers to be generous with their serum application:   “Take it aaaaaall the way down that decolletage, right to your twins,” she said.

And while we’ve all come across the skin care application expression “your face stops at your nipples”, there is one place we’ve been neglecting that Phoebe brought our attention to.  Waste not want not, Phoebe applied the remainder of product to the backs of her hands — we’re always forgetting that bit!

  1. The Jojoba Company, an Australian company, has a Skin Balancing oil 30ml with the bakuchiol as one of the ingredients. For my own interest I had emailed them to find out the strength of the bakuchiol and it is at 1%. The key ingredients are Jojoba, Bakuchiol & Calla lily (Akoactive® Nile Lily), Parsley seed oil, Juniperberry oil & Grapeseed oil. The full ingredients are on their web page and it’s only $40. The Jojoba Company do make some lovely and natural products.
