No7 Have Just Launched A Range Dedicated To Treating Menopausal Skin

Though menopause will look different for every woman, we will all experience it in one way or another at some point. Outside of mood swings and hot flushes, some of the main side effects can be seen on our skin. And despite all the anti-ageing skin care that’s promising to keep us young forever, what happens when this inevitable phase of life actually kicks into gear? Because lord knows it will. Well, the UK’s number one selling skin care brand, No7, has recently developed an entire range (alongside over 7000 menopausal women) aimed at treating exactly that.

What exactly is menopause?

Menopause refers to a the period in a woman’s life when her menstrual cycle finishes. Once a woman has gone 12 consecutive months without a period, she is considered to be in menopause. The period leading up to this is referred to as ‘perimenopause.’ During this time our hormones are fluctuating before they begin to decline.

What impact does menopause have on our skin?

Due to a loss of estrogen, our skin can become thinner and more sensitive, leaving it more prone to itchiness, dryness and general sensitives. As if you didn’t have enough to contend with!

Plus, as the skin renewal cycle slows down, we can begin to accumulate dead skin cells. The result? A dull and lacklustre complexion.

In some cases, alongside collagen loss, increased sensitivities and dryness, women might also develop adult acne, rosacea and pigmentation.

What can we expect from the No7 Menopause Skincare collection?

Instead of just sticking the ‘M’ word on a label and hoping to attract a particular demographic, No7 undertook lengthy clinical studies to ensure they were effectively targeting the issues associated with this particular phase in a woman’s life.

The range includes a set of products which will build a complete menopause-approved AM and PM skin care routine. From their exfoliating cleanser to their cooling mist, each product aims to replenish dull skin within one week. Yes, you read that correctly. One week!

Is the range available in Australia?

After No7’s long-awaited launch into Priceline last year, we have high hopes to see the menopause-focussed collection hit our shores soon. For now at least, the Menopause Skincare Collection is available to scope out on the UK website. That way you can workshop your wish-list for when those glorious purple bottles eventually do arrive.

  1. I cant see this taking off. I cant see how a pharmacy/supermarket brand has benefits which are not already covered by a multitude of brands and products, which are so much more attractive in branding and packaging… and no doubt, ingredients! There’s no need to change down from what we know is working well. I think this description is a huge turn off.

  2. I’d actually be interested in trying this range. My skin (& body) definitely giving me grief in perimenopause – ridiculous hot flushes several times an hour, associated sweats and dry, itchy skin with even greater sensitivity. I’m jealous of all of you on the other side or who had no/little issues.
