Twenty females aged 35 to 64 with either normal/combination skin, oily skin or dry skin, who were concerned about signs of skin ageing including fine lines, wrinkles and an uneven skin tone, as well as age prevention. The triallers were required to use a pearl-sized amount of Neutrogena® Rapid Wrinkle Repair™ Anti-Ageing Day SPF 15 Moisturiser in the morning, a pearl-sized amount of Neutrogena® Rapid Wrinkle Repair™ Anti-Ageing Night Moisturiser at night, followed by a small amount of Neutrogena® Rapid Wrinkle Repair™ Anti-Ageing Eye Cream twice per day, morning and night. They were instructed to apply the products following their regular cleansing and serum routine.The products contain retinol, which can cause mild redness, a warm, tingling sensation or skin flaking. These are normal, temporary indications that the formula is working, however the triallers were instructed to limit use to once every other day until their skin adjusted if the effects persisted or caused discomfort.

Neutrogena® Rapid Wrinkle Repair is a new anti-ageing range comprising Neutrogena® Rapid Wrinkle Repair™ Anti-Ageing Day SPF 15 Moisturiser, Neutrogena® Rapid Wrinkle Repair™ Anti-Ageing Night Moisturiser and Neutrogena® Rapid Wrinkle Repair™ Anti-Ageing Eye Cream. All three products contain Neutrogena’s fastest retinol formula to date, an exclusive Accelerated Retinol SA technology, which has been formulated to be scientifically superior to other forms of vitamin A (pro-retinol and retinyl palmitate) in providing benefit to the skin.
The formula also includes hyaluronic acid to help hydrate, replenish and rejuvenate the look of skin, as well as Glucose Complex, a Retinol SA booster that accelerates reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The products aim to reduce the look of visible signs of ageing, including fine lines and wrinkles, in just one week.
The triallers enjoyed the sleek, travel-friendly packaging of the products, with many commenting on the convenient twist top of the day and night cream. They also enjoyed the scent of the products, often describing it as “fruity” and “fresh”. Most found the products absorbed quickly and easily, without leaving any residue or interfering with their makeup.
Many noted their skin felt smoother and softer by the end of the trial period. While some triallers were yet to see significant anti-ageing results, many felt that the products helped reduce the appearance of their fine lines and wrinkles, and promoted a more rejuvenated and radiant skin tone.
While the triallers appreciated the inclusion of SPF in the day cream, several said they would have preferred a higher SPF, and felt the need to use an additional sunscreen. A number of triallers also experienced mild redness and skin flaking due to the retinol ingredient in the products. They reduced their usage to every other day temporarily as per Neutrogena®’s recommendation, and the majority found their skin adjusted well.
