There’s money to be made in beauty, as any one of these six beauty entrepreneurs turned billionaires will tell you. Even so, depending on how your business is run, not every end-of-year payday will look the same.
Just ask Miranda Kerr, who recently revealed that her best-selling skin care and wellness brand, Kora Organics (though it’s had undeniable success) isn’t actually putting any money in her pocket. Say what now?
“I haven’t made a cent from the company,” she told Vogue Australia, speaking of the brand born in 2009 off the back of her Mum’s health scare with spleen cancer. Um, how exactly is that possible?
According to the supermodel, “I put it all back into the company and use the highest quality ingredients. I believe people deserve that. You shouldn’t have to compromise on your health to get results.”
The organic skin care line began as a passion project to eliminate parabens, sulfates, and GMOs from her beauty regimen, and was quickly picked up by Sephora who were interested in taking the brand global. No small feat. And now? Kora Organics is sold across 30 countries.

Speaking of the company’s expansion, Miranda said, “That was really daunting for me because it required more of my time, energy and money.” Noting that it was in fact her husband, CEO of Snapchat, Evan Spiegel who encouraged her to take the leap. If there were ever a reliable person to take business advice from…
Though she might not be pocketing an official profit from the company as of yet, we have a feeling she’ll see a return on investment soon enough. Go girl!

Have you ever tried anything from Kora Organics?
Wow, that’s amazing, good on her she doesn’t want to compromise on quality.
I love that !
I have tried Kora before and I love everything she stands for.
Yes she sounds really sincere and deserves to do well
Her brand has really taken off! Good for her
I haven’t tried any Kora products yet. Glad that care is taken with ingredients.
Yes she sounds really motivated to supply the best
It’s a bit expensive for me, she must be putting alot of money back into her company.
Exactly. She must believe in her product.
I haven’t tried any Kora products but would like to.
Well thats interesting to hear.
I’m sure the money will come to her eventually.
Yes I think it will – it’s products are beautiful though I haven’t tried many at all myself. I did see a fancy Kora product today online while shopping and I thought the packaging is very swish indeed.
I’m sure she will see profits soon! Hang in there Miranda! Also, I reckon she gets to use the products all for free which is a pertty great perk of the job! 🙂
That’s so good! Best quality = best results! X
One of my friends uses her products and the ones that smelt so far have too much essential oil in them for my liking
I haven’t tried the products but they sound lovely, as do her values
I have tried her hydrating face mists.
Ok then. Not using this brand’s skincare.
Quality is more important than price.
id like to try this range but the frahrance puts me off
Not a heap of fragrance in all her products. Would recommend the noni range.
I have never tried -It is a new one for me
New to me too
I think it is smart that she is putting it all back into the company… it shows, by how far the company has come in the last decade.
Isn’t she married to a tech billionare? Plus she has all of her modelling money.
She started the company before she met and married Evan.
Bit surprised to read this when the company isn’t exactly new. Kora is one of the first brands that got me interested in trying new products. I’ve been on and off the brand but always go back to it. The noni range alone is great.
Sadly Kora used to be listed on BH. I’ve tried so much of the range but sad I can’t rave about some of them here.
So very glad that Miranda is looking after her Mother, but she is so genuine especially caring about the ingredients that go into her Skincare Products.
That’s great that she’s reinvesting it back into the company
Lucky she’s married to a billionaire then lol
Haven’t tried the brand.
I’ve tried one Kora product & didn’t like it, so it’s put me off trying anything else.
I guess you don’t need to make a profit in your company when you’ve got speaking/appearances/royalties coming in as well as a successful modelling career?
A lot of companies continue to reinvest into the company, that’s how they grow and expand. Hopefully she will realise some profits soon.
Sounds amazing
