There are only two things that will get you bounced from Bh faster than Larry Birkhead on a spiralling starlet: brazen sunburn (SPF is sacred!) and a splutter. The nanosecond you’re suspected of carrying anything more infectious than a luxe leather tote into work, you’re banished – pack your puffy under-eye bags and go home.
So exiled to my couch yesterday with only Oprah, the Open and a sniffle for company, I resolved to at least make my prison a pretty one…
Being unfit for visitors is the perfect time to indulge in an oozing treat of seaweed, clay or delicious mud, so yesterday was all about masks. Everywhere.
If I’m going to languish, I’m going to do it in a little luxury. So on with my new favourite face mask: Pur Minerals Mineral Mudd. Infused with echinacea and cucumber extracts, this deep detoxer features pascalite, a form of calcium bentonite clay drawn from the base of Big Horn Mountain in Wyoming. A traditional remedy relied upon by Native Americans, pascalite is more than a purifier, it’s apparently the only cure for the bite of a brown recluse spider. My sickly, congested skin? No match.
Next, the lazicure. Any sort of filing required far more focus than I could muster, but snoozing with paws smothered in aromatherapeutic almond, white tea and mandarin felt completely do-able. The next best thing to a paraffin glove in the beauty parlour, Qtica’s White Tea Moisture Mask is so about skincare you can use it on your face, and it leaves your hands plump and soft as peach cheeks. Bliss…
Indeed, by the time my soles were soaking in a peppermint and lavender oil footbath (note to self: invest in a Sunbeam foot spa and Springfields Foot Spa Aromatherapy Elixir by flu season) after CND’s Raw Earth Clay SpaPedicure Foot Mask, I felt more than at one with my exile.
Splutter. SNIFF!
I had full body seaweed wrap mask done couple of times…omg, amazing!
