We Spied *This* Skin Care Device In Lupita Nyong’o’s Oscars Skin Prep Lineup

In the awards show world, the Oscars (or Academy Awards depending on who you ask) are the big finale. The dresses are amped up, the glam teams are geared into overdrive and the skin is extra thoroughly prepped. We’re talking months of planning going into just this one night. So what are the products the celebs turn to, to get that final skin-boosting, glow-getting hit?

For Lupita Nyong’o, her glimmering glow was all that anyone could talk about; her stunning sparkly gown wasn’t the only thing looking luminous on the carpet. The star celebrated 10 years of Oscar nominations (and wins) in serious nostalgic style. But what products got her skin so perfectly smoothed? Well, our commitment to bringing you all the behind the scenes beauty news brought us to a (now expired – sorry) series of Instagram Stories that revealed just that. In fact, it was there where we spied what we now know to be the secret to Lupita’s gloriously glowing, plumped up skin.

The device behind Lupita Nyong’o’s glowing skin

So, we first spied a glimpse of Lupita wearing this ultra-targeted, skin-plumping device in an Instagram Story where she lounged in a robe having her nails painted. That’s what sent us down a sleuthing rabbit hole: could it be? We think it is! And sure enough, our suspicions were all but confirmed with a second Story that featured the device clearly sitting on a table.

So, what is this elusive, skin-smoothing device? Well Lupita clearly has great taste. Because she opted to use the CurrentBody Skin LED Eye Perfector ($329 at Current Body). Why was that such a fantastic choice? Because LED masks are incredible at working to help boost collagen production, creating a smoother skin look, of course! For Lupita and the eye looks she wore for not only the Oscars but also the Vanity Fair afterparty, having a helping hand to smooth, plump and boost that eye area was a great plan. Her skin speaks volumes about just how good this A-list-approved device really is; we advise adding to cart ASAP.
