The La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ Balm Cream is a microbiome-powered, multi-repairing hydrating cream formulated to support skin recovery for dry skin in adults, children and babies.

Before trialling the reformulated Cicaplast, members all had a similar thought: “if it ain’t broke…”. A large proportion of the trial were not only familiar with La Roche-Posay’s cult-favourite cream, they were fans, which naturally made them slightly reluctant to change.

However, all concerns were quickly eliminated as members swiftly identified the clear benefits and strengths in the new formulation. From mild sunburn and minor pimple pigmentation to larger scale markings like post-procedure chemical peels or resurfacing lasers, the cream worked quickly to calm and soothe. Though the old formulation was praised for its effectiveness, its consistency was described as being overly thick.

This time around, members were pleased to report that while the formula packed a serious hydrating punch, the cream itself was much lighter and absorbed almost immediately, without any greasy residue — a much more appealing finish for those who were using it twice daily across their face and body.

Despite the initial nostalgia for the beloved original formulation, members were quick to realise that you can’t argue with results. After just one use, members noted a visible reduction in redness, plus a healthier skin barrier and an overall improvement in the hydration of their complexion. Naturally, such impressive results alongside the ease of use meant Trial Team members were incredibly confident that the Cicaplast Baume B5+ Balm Cream would feature as a regular in their skin care routine moving forward.

“The cream itself is very rich and hydrating. I had some dry, flaky patches and after applying it day and night for 2 days, they disappeared. I also like that there is no fragrance, great for those with sensitive skin.” – Alice320, read more reviews…

“The balm has calmed the redness of my skin and I am having less noticeable breakouts. The texture of my skin is much smoother and feeling more plump and moisturised. I have also been using this on my lips as I am prone to dry lips and my lips are better than they have ever been.” – rhianeestelle, read more reviews…

“I am so happy with the new formulation. It’s is runnier and applies more like a balm. It is more emollient, less stiff and has less of a white cast, although I did not feel that was an issue unless applied thickly. It just feels nicer to apply.” – cherry pie, read more reviews…

“The results are beyond amazing! My skin has never felt more hydrated. The very low scents helped with my skin. It getting aggravated. This cream calmed my skin. I do a lot of swimming in the pool so my skin is very very dry from the harsh pool chemicals, however I noticed an instant result after using this cream. Initially I thought it might be a bit thick and heavy, but the cream absorbed right in without any greasy or heavy feeling which meant I could use it daily and on my face also. There aren’t many creams that I have found I can use on my body and face. ” – Mellony henwood, read more reviews…
