The La Roche-Posay Cicaplast B5 Serum is a dermatologically-tested formulation that works to hydrate and maintain a healthy moisture barrier. Infused with 10 per cent vitamin B5, this serum has been developed specifically to treat dry, compromised skin showing signs of tightness, irritation, discomfort and redness.

As we emerge from a cold winter, Trial Team members described their skin as being dry and more sensitive than usual. Eager to calm their complexions, members were curious to see whether La Roche-Posay’s sensitivity-friendly, ultra-soothing serum would be enough to do the trick. Though majority of Trial Team participants had previously used products from La Roche-Posay’s skin care line, for some, this was their first experience trialling the best-selling range.

Their thoughts? One member quickly described the French drugstore brand as “living up to the hype.”

Members described the serum’s texture and consistency as being lightweight, non-sticky and quick to absorb. They enjoyed using it in their morning routine not only for its redness-reducing benefits, but also as a smoothing primer under makeup. Despite some members’ concerns about the price point, majority felt that it was justified given the serum’s effectiveness (seeing visible improvements in just a few weeks). In fact, many Trial Team participants reported that friends and family had commented on the appearance of their dewy, glowing skin. Something that, according to some, hadn’t occurred in years. Plus, thanks to the serum’s anti-flaking benefits, many members were excited to keep this product in their beauty bag to use any time post-procedure care is required.

As for the packaging, the glass dropper bottle help to reduce product waste, as members could accurately dispense the required amount each time. However, there was a call for the bottle to be made of transparent glass so members could easily monitor how much product was remaining.

The general consensus? Sensitive skin-types were rejoicing. Outside of quickly hydrating dehydrated and dry complexions, La Roche-Posay’s gentle serum repaired compromised barriers and left the skin looking plump, smooth and bright, even for those who are acne-prone. Members of the Trial Team have expressed their desire to keep this serum on their year-long rotation and are looking forward to sharing this discovery with their family and friends.
