Jennifer Lopez has added beauty vlogger to her resume and we couldn’t be happier about it. The 52-year-old went one step further than a makeup-free selfie, sharing a skin care-inspired video that showcased her glowing skin. Safe to say, we were hooked.
Sharing the 2-minute diary entry to Instagram, J.Lo explained that she was on location for a shoot and feeling very tired. “The face gets a beating, you’re not getting enough sleep, it’s a whole thing,” she said of the night shoots. Relatable… sort of.
Dressed in a robe with her hair in a bun (ah celebrities, they’re just like us), the topic quickly turned to her brand, JLo Beauty. The actress raved about her “old faithful”, the That JLo Glow Serum ($79 USD), explaining that it was the reason her skin was looking so amazing.
“This is no bullsh*t,” she said. “This is not me trying to sell anything to you, this is me sharing the secret that I’m trying to give you [and] that you asked for.”
Given there are six other skin care products in the JLo Beauty range, the serum appears to be the standout. And looking at the ingredients, it is somewhat unique.
It contains an antioxidant-rich oil complex of squalane, fermented oil, extra virgin oil, and leaf extract to deeply moisturise. We were expecting some AHAs for glow, but its brightening powers are thanks to a Japanese rice sake ferment.
It’s yet to be available in Australia, so we’ll have to take J.Lo’s word on its results for now.
As for a rumoured J.Lo skin care fave that is available Down Under? StriVectin, the anti-ageing range behind Jennifer’s favourite eye cream has officially landed on Adore Beauty. Shop the range here.
Every other time J.Lo has gone makeup-free
In December 2021, while sharing more Jennifer Lopez skin tips via Instagram.
Channeling the same energy most of us had throughout the pandemic in August 2020.
Soft-launching our demand for her skin care secrets back in January 2019.
Do you like seeing celebrities makeup-free? Would you try JLo Beauty if you could get your hands on it?
She does look amazing. Some of it may be due to Botox. She is 52,
Surely she should have a few wrinkles?
Neck gives them away. And chest skin. And these cameras for selfies blur everything. My “smartphone”, got it updated and I look like an alien now. It makes even my face shape different! Same like JLo’s phone, does same thing. I look like “celebs” now haha
Great that you have celebrity status Yo😃
Good point! This latest selfie is in poor lighting & a bit blurry.
Agree. She’s been caught out and it’s so disingenuous that she’s selling a skincare line.
i call bullshit and lies…. im over her
She looks so different, her skin looks great, and she looks much younger than 54. I hope she has’nt had botox or some other procedures done then attribute her youthful good looks solely to her skincare products.
Not into random skincare from some people from Hollywood. But do love good skincare and pampering to keep skin plump and resurfaced.
Same here!
I wouldn’t try any celebs makeup or skincare line
No would I.
I did have to do a double check though in regards to fragrance. Then, I remembered I had purchased Andy by Hamish years ago but I don’t know if that counts or not.
She looks so different without makeup, to me she looks younger and her skin looks really good.
She does look younger.
I think so too. Hardly recognise her.
She has such lovely skin!
Looks at least 20 years younger than her age. Unbelievably beautiful.
Courtesy if every procedure out there.
ha ha that’s prob. true.
It’s great to see what they really look like – natural looks are amazing I think!
She looks younger without makeup but the lack of wrinkles makes me suspicious.
Do you like seeing celebrities makeup-free?
I like to see them looking relaxed and happy
Would you try JLo Beauty if you could get your hands on it?
Celeb anything Noooo
Her skin looks incredibly youthful for her age.
Yes I like seeing them without makeup and JLo’s skin looks so hydrated.
Hard to take advice from celebrities who are wealthy and can afford to maintain their skin with expensive facials and treatments. I also think her genetics are probably great.
The rice sake ferment makes me think of SKII, which has long been on my wishlist for if I ever win Lotto.
“It contains an antioxidant-rich oil complex of squalane, fermented oil, extra virgin oil, and leaf extract…”
Hmm. What kind of oil? What type of leaf extract?
As much as I usually roll my eyes at celebrity products, the sake ferment piques my interest. The price puts me off, but I’m still curious.
Olive oil isn’t great for your skin- ask any dermatologist!
Some great tips! She looks amazing
Her skin looks amazing.
She’s got really nice smooth looking skin. It’s quite flawless.
She looks great.
She always looks amazing. Would love to try out some of those products.
She does not look 52! I’m not really into celebrity skincare but I’d check out her glow serum.
She always looks so youthful
I am not sure why but celebrity skincare lines don’t attract me even if I like the celebrity. She does look great though but I don’t think I would trust her skincare line unless I see normal people use and rave about it
She looks great makeup free but I hope she isn’t using a filter
i feel like she lies and im not into it.
I know it’s unrealistic to compare myself to these celebs who almost definitely have had some work done but I can’t help it – hope skincare gets similar results?
I think it is good if they have the confidence to show us they are not glam all the time but these photos seem to still have touches of makeup in most of them
She is simply stunning! with and without make up!
