We’ve decided: Jennifer Garner must be protected at all costs. The seriously sweet star recently spilled all her (super affordable) skin care secrets with Vogue, which we can’t love her any more for doing.
And as if that wasn’t enough, she also shared her wholeheartedly wholesome advice for moving through life with confidence, and (as we’d expect from someone who seems like the wisest woman alive), she had some serious gems up her sleeve. She suggests if you want to have self-esteem, then you need to do esteemable things. By focusing outwards rather than in, the star suggests even the smallest of kind gestures will get you a long way towards your goals.
And while this incredible inspiration isn’t directly impacting her skin, we think the level of kindness she shows helps create her abundantly radiant aura.

Jennifer Garner’s Quick and Easy Skin Care
While talking through her (very) speedy skin care routine, Jen let us know she’s just like us. And no, we aren’t all hugely successful movie stars (we wish!), but Jen’s a busy mum on the go and her skin care (and makeup) routine reflects that. As she shares, it’s important to remember that you can’t “always get fancy with it” and the days of really getting into the routine of it all are less important than just “getting it done” (iconic behaviour, Jen). And the best part is, you can find most of her skin care routine on the shelves of Priceline. A serious celeb skin care win!
Jennifer Garner’s Exact Skin Care Routine
Cleansing and exfoliating
Starting off by taking the little bit of makeup that she had on, Jen went in with a surprising combo. Starting off by covering her face with the Rationale The PreCleanse Balm ($134 at Rationale). Jen then takes three pumps (or ‘boops’ as she calls them) of Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleanser Water Gel ($19.99 at Priceline). Once cleansed, she then went in with the brightening, renewing (and unfortunately unavailable in Australia) YSE Beauty Your Favorite Ex Exfoliating Pads.
As she cleansed away Jen shared that when she was younger she had hormonal acne. So that’s why she became so invested in skin care (although she won’t let her children become ‘Sephora kids’). Now, when we picture the kind of people Jennifer Garner surrounds herself with, we think of other celebrities, hair and makeup artists, even school drop off mums. And all of those assumptions may be true, but Jen also has a handful of ‘buddies’ who happen to be chemists. Yep, chemists and Jennifer Garner, who would’ve thought? Thankfully, her friends chose to share the skin-boosting benefits of hyaluronic acid with her. The Neutrogena range that Jen so loves happens to hero the ultra-hydration hitting ingredient. But why does Jen love it so much? Because it seals all the moisture at the top of your skin, giving it a “layer of ‘poof’”, as she calls it. Cute!
Hydrating
So, with clean (exfoliated) skin, she rubs in a few drops of that moisture-boosting Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Serum ($35.99 at Priceline), before following up the serum with another Neutrogena product (bargain win!). For an extra hydrating glow she uses the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Water Face Gel ($34.99 at Priceline).
Sunscreen
And the last and most important step in Jen’s (and everybody’s) skin care routine is of course, SPF. She says that no matter what, SPF is a ‘must’. Making sure she’s ultra-protected, Jen likes to layer on her sunscreen. Her SPF of choice? Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion SPF50 ($10 at Chemist Warehouse). While applying her protection, Jen left us with a pearl of wisdom that we might just get tattooed on our bodies. “Nothing looks better in your 50s than sunscreen in your 20s”,” she shared. Is there even any more to say after that? Of course.
Jennifer, the queen of all things relatable, ends (the skin care portion) of this girl-next-door video with, “that’s enough on the skin. It’s fine, look I glow” and honestly we’re going to start saying the same thing as our morning skin care mantra.
