In the name of clear skin, there are few things we won’t do. That is until Jennifer Aniston’s salmon sperm facial entered the picture.
Yep, you read that right.
When it comes to experimental skin care practices, we’ve seen everything from the vampire facial to deer milk (don’t even mention ‘urine therapy’), but few treatments sound as… strange as the ‘salmon sperm facial’. Because of this, it came as a surprise to hear Jennifer Aniston was actually a recipient of this treatment.
In the quest for eternally youthful skin, Jen admitted in an interview with WSJ. Magazine that she’s open to trying anything. This is, apparently, unlimited to fish semen.
Look, we’ve all fallen victim to the upsell, and it seems the actress was taken with the treatment’s anti-ageing promises.
She explained in the interview that an aesthetician recommended the facial to her, to which she replied, “Are you serious? How do you get salmon’s sperm?”
According to a 2020 study, Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) – the DNA extracted from salmons sperm cells – can accelerate wound healing and promote collagen production. The treatment is most popular in South Korea and Singapore.
While Jennifer admits she didn’t notice any results, she did reveal that she’s a fan of weekly peptide injections.
“I do think that’s the future,” she said.
If weekly skin injections are not on the cards for you, topical peptide serums also possess anti-ageing benefits such as increased elasticity and skin regeneration (for the full 4-1-1 on peptides, check out our explainer).

What are your thoughts on the salmon sperm facial? Have you tried any ‘out there’ skin treatments?
Yeah no thanks
I’ll definitely jump on the peptide bandwagon with Jennifer Aniston…now to obtain the funds to fuel such luxuries!
Injections don’t appeal to me.
I’d try it if I had the money.
Yeah, me too. I would much prefer to spend money on facials than injectables.
What about men s p e r m facial, why take from salmons lol
Too funny!
Oh my, things can get complicated here?
No thanks, it sounds super weird.
No Thanks no way does this appeal to me.
Absurd. I’ve tried a donkey milk sheet mask before though and it broke me out like nothing before.
There’s no limit to the ridiculous in beauty …
I agree,what next?
Totally
-more money than sense.
Disgusting, fish are already having trouble surviving, don’t need another reason to use them.
No, it’s not on my ‘to do’ list.
Me either thank you very much.
no way
Gah. This is not something I’d try.
Interesting.. i wonder what it smells like lol
Fishy perhaps !!
Haha! & she saw no improvement!
It’s a no from me, too.
I have heard it used for some anti aging skin care products.
I wonder what price these products would be?
She uses what now?!
I am sure there are other products out there without needing to use salmon sperm -Let the salmons have their own sperm for making more salmon.
lol no thankyou. I’ll be skipping the weekly injections too
I’m not into injections unless I really need them for a medical reason.
not for me. no thanks
What the?
What’s next? Camel Milk?
Interesting!
Bit misleading, not quite the same as spreading salmon sperm on your face
You are right but still not one I would participate in
My thoughts are Ewww!
I am not convinced this is the way to go.
Yeah, definitely not trying this one.
Yeah noooo to that
i am curious where ar peptide injections actually injected? ie a wrinkle or somewhere else?
nope wouldn’t want to go there. As to the peptide injections no way. Why can’t people just age gracefully.
I’d rather just eat salmon
I don’t like them.
Ewww, visions of how to obtain that!
I would never have recognised Jennifer Aniston from the first picture.
