Jane Fonda is not only a legendary actress and political activist, she’s also a classic beauty icon. In her ninth decade, her skin continues to radiate youth and vitality. So, what’s the secret behind Jane Fonda’s flawless complexion? Turns out it’s more accessible than you thought.
Before we get into her hero product, it is important to note that Jane’s skin care journey is grounded in her dedication to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. As a renowned fitness guru, she takes a holistic approach to her skin health. In saying this, the 84-year-old does count on a product or two to maintain her radiant skin.
Jane Fonda’s skin care routine
When speaking with Glamour she shared that dryness is her main concern.
“As I’ve gotten older, my skin and hair have become even drier. So keeping moisturised and protected with sunscreen is pretty important,” she said.
She seconded this in an interview with Grazia; “[Skin care is] important as a movie star. You can get rid of a lot of wrinkles and things with good lighting, but still, it’s really important for any woman, whether she’s a movie actor or not, to take care of her skin, to keep it clean and moist.”
To achieve this level of moisture, the actress swears by drugstore serum L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Serum ($35.99 at Chemist Warehouse).
Designed with mature skin in mind, the Midnight Serum is formulated with the two antioxidants Neohesperidin & Vitamin E, which help protect against free radical damage alongside speeding up cell turnover.
Jane told Grazia that she likes using the serum at nighttime as “it has a lot of antioxidants and good things to hydrate the skin”. As an environmentally-conscious queen she also shared that she enjoys the product due to its recyclable glass packaging.
In line with her hydration focus, the Book Club star likes to switch up her moisturisers.
She told Glamour; “Catherine Deneuve told me a long time ago, like in the ’60s, that she switched up her skin creams and didn’t always use the same one. And I’ve heard in the subsequent decades from people who seem to be in the know that this tends to be good for you.”
On rotation are the Uncle Bud’s Face Lotion (unavailable in Australia), L’Oreal Age Perfect ($36.99 at Priceline) and Mina Moursi Triple Actif Anti Wrinkle Firming Crème ($205 at MECCA).

My holy grail serum is Skinceuticals CE Ferulic. It’s spendy but worth it.
I don’t think I have a holy grail serum but for me I do enjoy anything from The Ordinary. Their products are the best
