Jane Fonda had a face lift. So what? Who cares? Yeah, we had the same reaction. However, if you ask the actress this same question, it turns out she does. “I had a facelift and I stopped because I don’t want to look distorted. I’m not proud of the fact that I had [one],” she told Vogue. In a similar sentiment to Jennifer Garner, Jane wants to empower people to embrace the ageing process, focusing on their health rather than trying to alter their appearance.
Jane’s thoughts on ageing…
“[I want] young people to stop being afraid about getting older,” she said. “[Turning] a certain age doesn’t mean you have to give up on life, give up on having fun, give up on having boyfriends or girlfriends, making new friends or whatever you want to do,” a theme that ran through her recently wrapped show Grace and Frankie, where she co-starred alongside Lily Tomlin as they navigated life following their failed marriages.
“My dad died six years younger than I am now. He seemed so old because he was ill. He had a heart disease. I’m not ill. So I’m almost 85 but I don’t seem that old,” she noted. Though she’s proud of where she is physically, Jane understands that there are contributing factors that have helped her along the way. The most obvious one? Money.
“’You can afford a trainer. You can afford plastic surgery. You can afford facials. You can afford the things that help make you continue to look young’,” she’s often told. “That is true,” she said, “Money does help. ‘Good genes and a lot of money’, as somebody once said.”
Her current beauty routine…
Following her fleeting foray into cosmetic procedures, Jane just keeps it simple these days. “I don’t do a lot of facials. I don’t spend a lot of money on face creams or anything like that, but I stay moisturised, I sleep, I move, I stay out of the sun, and I have good friends who make me laugh,” she said. “Laughter is a good thing too.”
What are your thoughts on Jane Fonda’s latest interview?
I think it’s quite common to have regrets about doing cosmetic procedures, several celebrities have said similar things.
Industry pressure. Luckily she did not get addicted like some
“I stay moisturised, I sleep, I move, I stay out of the sun, and I have good friends who make me laugh” – best advice right there from Jane. 💝
Must say sounds alright to me. I do like the sun though!
Yes Norma so do I -Hard to not like it when we get so much
I loved this piece of advice too! 🙂
I like that she’s open and honest about her surgeries and she looks amazing.
Refreshing and really good that Jane Fonda is prepared to be open and honest.
Love her!
She looks amazing for age.
Now here is one lovely lady.
Jane is always super confident and amazing! I am so glad she feels comfortable to share this insight advice about her past experience! X
I can’t believe she is 85 – what an inspiration!
I saw her the other night on the Project and thought she looks really well and still very attractive
I saw that too.
Love her openness. She looks amazing though! whatever she had was well done.
She looks amazing. Hard to believe she is 85.
Yes a great sense of humour is a wonderful thing! 🙂
So many celebs lie about having had work done – good on Jane for her honesty, & good on her for giving it away. She looks fantastic because she lives a happy & healthy lifestyle.
I think Jane looks fantastic she has great bones and she is so current in her thinking. Very elegant and always beautifully dressed.
Good on Jane for being so honest however it must be nice to have the choice and not all people have such good genes.
I cant believe shes 85!!!
Jane is a good role model.
Jane Fonda looks absolutely amazing so very beautiful she certainly doesn’t look her Age. But most of the Celebrities can afford to have Facelifts and other procedures done on a regular basis.
That’s true Margi59. Unfortunately for some they go too far and have too many procedures done so they look worse for it.
Oh to have the money to splash on a personal trainer and facials etc. I’d throw in a personal Chef too lol
So would I 🤣
She’s always put in a lot of effort to keep fit and healthy for decades and it’s paid off. She’s also totally right and honest stating money helps as well as luck and good genes!
She looks amazing, never would have thought she’s 85.
Nice advice from her
It’s so good to see Jane owning the way money and privilege impact on how we age. She looks terrific in spite of rather than because of her face lift and is a good role model for activism and ageing well.
She looks great.
I love how she keeps things simple when it comes to her skin
She still looks beautiful.
