How-to: Elizabeth Olsen’s smoky haze

If you were around in the 90s, then no doubt you’ve grown up watching the adorable Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen light up your television screen in shows like Full House and a bunch of franchised films. Their big beautiful eyes and angular faces have made them fashion and beauty icons, and there’s more where that came from.

I’d like to introduce you to the new kid on the Olsen block – Elizabeth. The little sis of Hollywood’s most famous twosome has leapt into the fashion and beauty world head first – and she’s lucky enough to have some trademark looks of her own.

We love the smoky haze look that Olsen sported at a recent museum tribute. The smudgy liner and stained pout really works to complement her side-swept vintage ‘do, and we think the whole thing is pretty scrumptious. Learn how to get the look here…

  • -If you’re prone to slightly shiny skin, be sure to use a mineral powder foundation to help prevent an oil slick showing through, especially if you’re going to be caught on camera. We love Adorn Loose Foundation SPF 15+ for its lightweight finish.
  • -For a rosy glow that still helps your cheeks look sculpted and defined (that is, like your cheekbones are higher than they actually are), opt for a darker pink blush. Rimmel London Mono Blush in Santa Rose or Berry are both perfect for adding colour and definition.
  • -Next, opt for a kohl liner to define your eyes, as they are smudgier than normal eye pencils. We like Nutrimetics Shimmereyes Eye Pencils for this look, as they add a touch of shimmer as they line. Be sure to line freehand, if it’s a little messy that’s okay! You can also smudge the colour out a little with your pointer finger if you wish.
  • -For lips that are completely kissable with a sheer jelly-like tint, opt for a nourishing lip tint like Lush It Started with a Kiss Tinted Lip Balm. It’s perfect for that lipstick-that’s-just-been-kissed-off look.
