Helen Mirren has been an icon on our screens for decades and with all that stardom comes a whole lot of wisdom. And luckily for us, Helen has decided to share it with us over the years, from ensuring that we embrace the skin we’re in as we age, to keeping up the desire to play with our makeup looks. And now, thanks to a chat with Byrdie, Helen has shared her very simple night time skin care routine, as well as a few tips of course.
So, if you’re looking for products from someone we deem to be a beauty expert, then you’re going to want to keep on reading…
Helen Mirren’s Skin Care Advice and Favourites
When it comes to ageing, Helen has been pro-embracing the journey for a long time. The talented star still finds there’s a way to go when it comes to having products specifically designed for more mature skin (because who doesn’t want a routine that matches their concerns?), but is the first to say it’s come a long way.
Her top tips? Maintaining a healthy lifestyle (specifically not smoking, and only drinking in moderation) and drinking pure pomegranate juice. And while she didn’t expand on what results she attributes to this habit (we’ll keep you posted), we’re pretty confident that the antioxidant-rich fruit must be pretty fantastic for your skin.
Helen Mirren’s Nighttime Routine
When it comes to morning and night routines, Helen tends to stick with the simplest options. She barely switches things up between the two, but she always prioritises moisturising. And although her morning and evening routines don’t drastically differ she does love to change up the products she uses.
Her main nighttime difference is taking a relaxing, soothing soak in an Epsom salt bath. And her go-to moisturiser? The L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Cream ($35.69 (usually $54.99) at Chemist Warehouse). The celeb-loved (Bethenny Frankel calls it elite) moisturiser is rich in antioxidants, and works to address the signs of ageing as you sleep. Now that’s something to dream about!

I prefer a simple skin care routine

Haven’t tried this before. Sounds good
I agree completely with prioritising moisturising. That’s always been my big thing too (although I don’t look as good as her.)
A gorgeous range of skincare
She’s totally rocking that gorgeous dress
It is beautiful hey, but one has to look good in it to show it off well.
I tried the serum of this range & it was excellent.
When we had a bath I used Epsom Salts alot but more for my neck/shoulder pain. She is beautiful though, very elegant as she ages too. Hope I age like her then.
I have only tried the serum but would probably like this.
Helen is looking much more fragile these days
I like the packaging. Have used some skincare from loreal. Some are great soem not so.
I’ll have to try the Midnight Cream. I love The L’Oreal Age Perfect Collagen Tightening Day Cream.
Looks luxe!
The L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Cream ($35.69 (usually $54.99) at Chemist Warehouse is really good value. Just not sure if that special is on.
