Considering the infamous vagina steaming escapade (and the ‘This Candle Smells Like My Vagina’ Goop wick that followed), we’ve learnt to take Gwyneth Paltrow’s beauty recommendations with a grain (or six) of salt.
But look, if you’re after non-toxic skin care that works a treat and feels luxurious, there’s no doubt that Paltrow has done enough testing and trialling to know what’s good and what’s not.
So, when she dropped her morning skin care routine in a recent Vogue video, we were all ears. Here are the products she rates, from serum to sunscreen…
Body brush
“The first part of my beauty routine which is really part of my wellness routine [because] I believe that beauty and wellness are inextricably linked, is the dry brush. You want a dry brush that has a little bit of resistance to it; that’s not too soft. And basically what you do is you start at your toes and you gently brush your skin all the way up the body. It really helps with circulation and exfoliation, among other benefits.”

She’s lost a lot of credibility with her own “out there” range. But she can keeps plugging her brand and products to her celebrity friends because it’s all goop to me.

I really want to try a body brush, I need to exfoliate daily in winter so think it could help.
I have a body brush but I don't use it. It takes a bit of time to brush your whole body and in winter it's too cold to do it

Gwyneth has some wacky ideas about health and beauty.
The fact that she barely applies sunscreen – "only the areas where the sun hits" – is a big turn off and sends a really bad message to others. While I'm sure the sunscreen she uses is nice, not applying it to your whole face isn't doing you any favours…

Some really pricey products there! Would be amazing to try them as I'm sure at those prices they would have to be… But the routine she goes by sounds great, I must give the dry brushing a go…
Body brushing is a great tip. But sad that she thinks everyone can afford or even wants to use over priced lotions.

I mean I am sure all the products she recommends are amazing. But they are all so expensive, except for Weleda moisturiser (which I love).
