If you’re anything like me, then you’ve always suspected that celebrities must have hours upon hours of make-up application before an event as big as the Golden Globes. How couldn’t they? How else do you explain the gorgeously glowing skin, the line free complexions, and the highlighter that looks like it was brushed on by fairies using pixie dust?
The secret, beauties, is a brand called NVEY ECO. They’ve been mingling with the stars at the 69th annual Golden Globe Awards this week, spreading the word on organic beauty and leaving their green footprint all over the red carpet. We were lucky enough to grab Claire McDonald, Head Make-up Artist for NVEY ECO, so that she could show us how to achieve Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) and Michelle Williams’ (My Week with Marilyn) winning make-up looks. For Michelle’s ‘just kissed’ rosy look:
– Start by using a creamy foundation smoothed on with a foundation brush for even consistency.
– Follow on with a blush that makes you looked flushed, using a light pink on the apples of your cheeks and sweeping it up to just below your temple to help to define and create feminine fullness.
– Keep your eyes simple – a light base colour with a touch of brown in the crease is all that is needed to create Michelle’s retro look.
– Load up your top and bottom lashes with a volumising black mascara to really open your eyes without being over the top.
– Finish the look with a creamy deep peach lipstick and a slick of gloss for a smile that makes men weak at the knees.
Hint: Michelle’s lashes are at the forefront of her look; try individual lashes applied towards the outer corner of the eye for extra length and definition.
