We couldn’t agree more with the saying “the best things in life are free”. Family, friendship, laughter, love – all these things are absolutely free and absolutely wonderful.
But there are also other less obvious things that are free, including tips and tricks for enhancing your natural beauty. So save your pennies and utilise the following five tips for an even more gorgeous you:
#1 Massage
You don’t have to spend a small fortune on a spa weekend or have a hubby who’s handy with his hands to benefit from a massage. Simply massaging your scalp before bed every night will help to increase circulation, which will stimulate the growth of long and luscious locks.
#2 Spooning
No I’m not talking about the kind you do in bed (although I’m sure there are some benefits from that too!). Instead, this kind of spooning involves actual spoons. Simply pop two of them in the freezer before you go to bed, and then when you wake up in the morning, place one over each eye while you lay back and relax for ten minutes. It will help to reduce the swelling around your eyes and get rid of that puffy morning look.

#3 Switch to your back
Changing the way you sleep is no easy feat, but if you can manage to switch to sleeping on your back, you’ll be doing your skin a big favour. Sleeping on your stomach or side can increase wrinkles and fine lines on the face, particularly on the cheeks and chin. Even though these creases seem to disappear as you wake, over a long-term period, they encourage deeper lines and may become permanent. Sleeping on your back can also stop breakouts on your face because you’ll no longer be sleeping so closely to the bacteria that gather on your pillowcase.
#4 Smudge free nails
Sitting still is a challenge for most women, and with wet nails, it’s pretty much impossible. But the good news is there’s a way to achieve fast drying nails that’s completely free. After painting your nails, let the polish air out for a minute and then dip your nails into icy cold water. It will dry the polish and you can go about your business without the fear of smudging.
#5 Get some vitamin D
Turns out Shailene Woodley might be onto something. Going out in the sun helps to stimulate blood circulation, which is essential for renewing skin cells. And we all know what that means… younger looking skin! Try heading out for 20 minutes in the sun before 10am or after 3pm to benefit from the sunshine.
