Controversial opinion: A fluffy soft serve beats any other ice cream in the game, merely based on texture rather than taste. There’s something about the fluffy feel that just makes it fun. Well, now the Mr Whippy vibes are breaking into beauty products, with foamy formulations reigning supreme across skincare, haircare and makeup. From Jen Atkin’s revolutionary dry shampoo foam (frothy and functional) to lush, light-as-air moisturising mousses, we’re 100% down to participate in the foam party. We’re head over heels for the stuff – in fact, you could even call us whipped.

For: Hydrated Skin
Few things feel as lush as lathering on a mousse-y moisturiser. Olay may have mastered the whip formula once and for all, thanks to their innovative Rush Technology – the formula transforms from cream to liquid on skin, delivering a heavy hit of hydration whilst still feeling lightweight.
Olay Luminous Whip
For: Fresh Strands
Not keen on the chalky texture dry shampoo can leave your hair with? Enter Ouai. Whip warning: it feels weird, but as founder Jen Atkin told me personally (fangirl alert): just keep rubbing. It will absorb, and your locks will be left cleansed and conditioned without any water.
Ouai Dry Shampoo Foam ($44, sephora.com.au)
For: Matte Coverage
A fluffy full-coverage foundation named after whipped cream ticks all our boxes. Formulated with a mousse-like texture and offering a flawless finish, it’s comfortable to wear and features SPF20. Overachiever alert.
Revlon ColorStay Whipped™ Créme Makeup
For: Voluminous Locks
Take your hair to new heights with this fullness-enhancing foam. Ideal for fine-haired beauties who want to add a little extra oomph to their manes, the formula includes Rassoul Clay to volumise and lift, adding density and strength as it goes.
R+Co Rodeo Star Thickening Foam ($45, davidjones.com)
For: Glossy Limbs
Don’t let your body get foam-o – this voluptuously soft body foam is fantastic for refreshing and hydrating. It leaves limbs soft, silky and smooth, whilst also soothing skin (thanks to cooling menthol) and imparting a succulent citrus scent.
L’OCCITANE Citrus Verbena Body Foam
For: Healthy Hair
There’s no doubt that a great conditioner can leave hair silky smooth and gorgeously glossy, but it can definitely also leave locks a little limp. If your hair is fine or naturally oily, this lightweight foam formula is fantastic for a wash that won’t weigh you down.

Do you have any favourite foamy formulations? Have you tried any of the products mentioned in this article?
Foam cleansers are nice to use, I haven't tried it elsewhere.
I think the only foam product I’m using is my fake tan. It seems to work well for that.
