Now that we’re at the tail end of winter (hallelujah!), it’s time to take off those jeans and find out what condition your skin is in. If you haven’t been religiously exfoliating and moisturising this winter (confession: I forgot to moisturise my legs this morning), then your skin’s probably resembling that of a reptile.
First, you need to ditch that dull, flaky and dry layer, and then work on getting fresh and radiant skin from head to toe.
Ready, set, go!
FOR YOUR FACE
Exfoliate on the reg
I think exfoliating is one of the most important yet underrated steps in skin care. Dry, dull and flaky skin is dehydrated skin, so no matter how many layers of serum, oil and moisturiser you slap on top of it, they just can’t penetrate through all that dead skin. What do you end up with? Skin that’s crying out for the nourishing goodness skin care products offer. The solution? Add an exfoliator to your routine twice a week. After cleansing, massage it into your skin using circular motions, then rinse off. You’ll find that your other skin care products will sink in way better, leaving you with a healthy, hydrated complexion. Yes, please!

Amp up the moisture
If you’re not already using a hydrating mask once a week, start now! Yes, I know they’re a little time-consuming and messy, but really, there are worse things than being forced to chill on the couch for 15 minutes while watching Friends re-runs. A hydrating mask will give your skin an instant injection of moisture, keeping it plump, glowing and replenished for days on end.

FOR YOUR BODY
Scrub away the season
Much like the skin on your face, dead skin cells build up on your bod, leaving it with that dry, scaly look we all know far too well (oops!). Ditch the scales by scrubbing your body once a week. Smooth the product onto wet skin and gently buff it in using circular motions. Just go easy on your neck and décolletage, as the skin there is quite delicate. When you’re done, top up your moisture levels with a slathering of body cream, and get on your way to gorgeous, glowing skin!

Don’t skip hands and feet
It’s great to give your face and body some TLC, but what about your poor hands and feet? As your hands are constantly exposed to wind, dry air and regular hand washing, they really suffer in winter. And if your feet have been tucked in socks and boots for the past few months, you probably don’t even want to look at your heels. Ditch the dryness and flaky bits by applying a hand and foot cream after showering to replenish lost moisture.

Did winter make your skin dull and dry? What will you do to get it back on track?
Basically exfoliate and lotion up, something I’m not doing the best job at….
